Perkins: "There is no way LeBron will retire - His statements are a message to management"
Kendrick Perkins emphasized that LeBron James is not going to retire from the NBA just yet, and interpreted his statements in a different way.
LeBron James' statements exploded like a bomb earlier in the week.
The "king" appeared very disappointed after the Lakers were eliminated by the Nuggets with a "broom, and left open the possibility of retiring from active action, pointing out that he does not know what will happen next season.
The NBA public was in for a surprise, but there were also some who didn't think LeBron was telling the truth. One of them was Kendrick Perkins, former basketball player and current commentator on American television networks.
Perkins stated that he did not consider it at all possible that the "king" would end his career so abruptly, while he said that in his opinion these statements were a clear message to the management of the Lakers, to improve the conditions. "He doesn't think he'll retire either! There's no way he's leaving without a farewell tour. These statements were a message to Rob Pelinka, Ginny Bass and the Lakers front office," he said specifically.

Ο Κέντρικ Πέρκινς τόνισε πως δεν ο ΛεΜπρόν Τζέιμς δεν πρόκειται να αποσυρθεί ακόμη από το ΝΒΑ, και ερμήνευσε τις δηλώσεις του με διαφορετικό τρόπο.
Σαν... βόμβα έσκασαν νωρίτερα στην εβδομάδα οι δηλώσεις του ΛεΜπρόν Τζέιμς.
Ο «βασιλιάς» εμφανίστηκε πολύ απογοητευμένος μετά τον αποκλεισμό των Λέικερς από τους Νάγκετς με «σκούπα, και άφησε ανοιχτό το ενδεχόμενο να αποσυρθεί από την ενεργό δράση, επισημαίνοντας πως δεν ξέρει τι θα γίνει στην επόμενη σεζόν.
Το κοινό του ΝΒΑ βρέθηκε προ εκπλήξεως, ωστόσο υπήρξαν και κάποιοι που δεν θεώρησαν ότι ο ΛεΜπρόν λέει την αλήθεια. Ένας εξ αυτών ήταν και ο Κέντρικ Πέρκινς, πρώην μπασκετμπολίστας και νυν σχολιαστής σε αμερικάνικα τηλεοπτικά δίκτυα.
Ο Πέρκινς δήλωσε πως δεν θεωρεί καθόλου πιθανό ο «βασιλιάς» να τελειώσει τόσο απότομα την καριέρα του, ενώ ανέφερε πως κατά τη γνώμη του οι δηλώσεις αυτές ήταν ένα ξεκάθαρο μήνυμα προς τη διοίκηση των Λέικερς, ώστε να βελτιωθούν οι συνθήκες. «Ούτε ο ίδιος δεν πιστεύει ότι θα αποσυρθεί! Δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να αποχωρήσει χωρίς μια αποχαιρετιστήρια περιοδεία. Αυτές οι δηλώσεις ήταν μήνυμα στον Ρομπ Πελίνκα, στην Τζίνι Μπας και στο front office των Λέικερς», δήλωσε συγκεκριμένα.
