Stan Wawrinka gave his last... performance at Roland Garros, with his "goodbye" being emotional.

This is Stan Wawrinka's last year in professional tennis, as the Swiss has announced. The experienced tennis player was defeated in the first round of Roland Garros by Jesper de Jong with 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 and played his last match in the clay Grand Slam.

The competitive part is of little importance, as after the end of the match, Wawrinka was adored by the people who were in Simonne Mathieu. He himself was extremely emotional, then taking the microphone to speak to the people who honored him.

Αυτή είναι η τελευταία χρονιά του Σταν Βαβρίνκα στο επαγγελματικό τένις, όπως έχει ανακοινώσει ο Ελβετός. Ο έμπειρος τενίστας ηττήθηκε στον πρώτο γύρο του Roland Garros από τον Γέσπερ ντε Γιονγκ με 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6 και έδωσε το τελευταίο του ματς στο χωμάτινο Grand Slam.

Το αγωνιστικό κομμάτι έχει μικρή σημασία, καθώς μετά το τέλος του αγώνα ο Βαβρίνκα αποθεώθηκε από τον κόσμο που βρισκόταν στο Simonne Mathieu. Ο ίδιος ήταν άκρως συγκινημένος, παίρνοντας στη συνέχεια το μικρόφωνο για να μιλήσει στον κόσμο που τον τίμησε.

Στα μάτριξ του court ακολούθησε ένα βίντεο με πολύ ωραία λόγια από τους Ρότζερ Φέντερερ, Γιάνικ Σίνερ, Ράφα Ναδάλ, Κάρλος Αλκαράθ, Γκαέλ Μονφίς και Νόβακ Τζόκοβιτς, με τους διοργανωτές να απονείμουν τιμητική πλακέτα στον «Stan the Man».
