Talos Griekspoor made a great comeback against Daniil Medvedev in Dubai and achieved the biggest victory of his career!

After a dramatic match lasting 2 hours and 36 minutes, the 28-year-old Dutchman (No.47) defeated the 2023 champion (No.6) 3-6, 7-6(7), 7-5 and will await the winner of the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini in the fourth round.

The 29-year-old Russian, however, missed a huge opportunity to win in the second set, as he had two match points at 4-5 and two more at 5-6. The set went, however, to a tiebreak, Griekspoor made it 1-1 and closed the match at 6-5 in the third, taking advantage of his fourth match point.

Medvedev, who has not started this season well at all, had complaints from the referee about... anti-Russian attitude and did not go to shake his hand after the match ended. Previously, he broke his racket...

Whoever advances to the final (Steph and Berrettini will duel tonight), will face one of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Quentin Allis, who continued their excellent run in the tournament.

The 24-year-old Canadian defeated Marin Cilic 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and is first in victories this season, having scored 15! He has already won two titles (Adelaide, Montpellier) and became the first player in 2025 to reach four semifinals.

Alis, for his part, who entered the main draw through qualifiers, turned the match against lucly loser Luca Nardi around, prevailing 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) and advancing to the biggest semifinal of his career.

The Alis-Aliassime match will take place tomorrow (28/2) at 15.00, while Griekspoor-Tsitsipas or Berrettini will play at 17.00 (Cosmote Sport 6).

Ο Τάλος Γκρίκσπορ έκανε σπουδαία ανατροπή κόντρα στον Ντανίλ Μεντβέντεφ στο Ντουμπάι και πέτυχε τη μεγαλύτερη νίκη της καριέρας του!

Μετά από ένα δραματικό ματς διάρκειας 2 ωρών και 36 λεπτών, ο 28χρονος Ολλανδός (Νο.47) λύγισε τον πρωταθλητή του 2023 (Νο.6) με 3-6, 7-6(7), 7-5 και θα περιμένει στην τετράδα τον νικητή του ματς ανάμεσα στον Στέφανο Τσιτσιπά και τον Ματέο Μπερετίνι.

Ο 29χρονος Ρώσος, πάντως, έχασε τεράστια ευκαιρία να πάρει τη νίκη στο δεύτερο σετ, καθώς είχε δύο ματς πόιντ στο 4-5 και άλλα δύο στο 5-6. Το σετ πήγε, όμως, σε τάι μπρέικ, ο Γκρίκσπορ έκανε το 1-1 και έκλεισε τον αγώνα στο 6-5 του τρίτου, εκμεταλλευόμενος το τέταρτο ματς πόιντ του.

Ο Μεντβέντεφ, που δεν έχει ξεκινήσει καθόλου καλά τη φετινή σεζόν, είχε παράπονα από τον διαιτητή για... αντι-ρωσική στάση και δεν πήγε να του δώσει το χέρι μετά τη λήξη του αγώνα. Προηγουμένως, έσπασε τη ρακέτα του...

Όποιος περάσει στον τελικό (Στεφ και Μπερετίνι θα μονομαχήσουν απόψε), θα αναμετρηθεί με έναν εκ των Φίλιξ Οζέ Αλιασιμ, Κεντέν Αλίς, που συνέχισαν την εξαιρετική πορεία τους στη διοργάνωση.

Ο 24χρονος Καναδός λύγισε τον Μάριν Τσίλιτς με 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 και είναι πρώτος σε νίκες τη φετινή σεζόν, έχοντας σημειώσει 15! Έχει κατακτήσει ήδη δύο τίτλους (Αδελαΐδα, Μονπελιέ) και έγινε ο πρώτος παίκτης για το 2025 που φτάνει σε τέσσερις ημιτελικούς.

Ο Αλίς, από την πλευρά του, που μπήκε μέσω προκριματικών στο κυρίως ταμπλό, γύρισε το ματς με τον lucly loser Λούκα Νάρντι, επικράτησε με 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) και πέρασε στον μεγαλύτερο ημιτελικό της καριέρας του.

Ο αγώνας Αλίς-Αλιασίμ θα γίνει αύριο (28/2) στις 15.00, ενώ Γκρίκσπορ-Τσιτσιπάς ή Μπερετίνι θα παίξουν στις 17.00 (Cosmote Sport 6).
