Anielli: "The Super League did not fail, finally the compromises with UEFA"

The conversation about the European Super League started again eleven months after its appearance on the "map", after the letter of Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid to the European Union regarding the new proposal for an open league without permanent members.

Ο Αντρέα Ανιέλι αρνήθηκε να παραδεχθεί την αποτυχία της Super League κι άφησε ανοιχτό το ενδεχόμενο επιστροφής της, τονίζοντας την ανάγκη να απαγκιστρωθεί το ποδόσφαιρο από το μονοπώλιο της UEFA. Τι είπε για Γιουβέντους και Champions League.

Η κουβέντα για την ευρωπαϊκή Super League άνοιξε και πάλι έντεκα μήνες από την εμφάνισή της στον «χάρτη», μετά την επιστολή των Μπαρτσελόνα, Γιουβέντους και Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση αναφορικά με τη νέα πρόταση για ανοιχτή λίγκα χωρίς μόνιμα μέλη.
Η επιστολή αυτή ήταν ο προάγγελος των δηλώσεων που θα έκανε ο Αντρέα Ανιέλι στο πλαίσιο του «Business Football Summit», με τον ισχυρό άνδρα της Γηραιάς Κυρίας να μην προχωρά σε ανακοίνωση οποιουδήποτε νέου πλάνου της ESL, αλλά να χαρίζει ουκ ολίγες ενδιαφέρουσες ατάκες εκτοξεύοντας κυρίως «πυρά» προς την UEFA.
Ο Ιταλός παράγοντας αρνήθηκε να αποδεχθεί ερώτηση δημοσιογράφου που έκανε λόγο για αποτυχία του εγχειρήματος της Super League και εστίασε στην ανάγκη απαγκίστρωσης του ποδοσφαίρου από το μονοπώλιο της ευρωπαϊκής συνομοσπονδίας. Τονίζοντας, μάλιστα, ότι η UEFA είχε καταλάβει πριν τη σύσταση της Super League πως ο ίδιος δουλεύει πάνω σε ένα άλλο ανταγωνιστικό project.
Όσον αφορά για την επόμενη κίνηση των 12 συλλόγων που υπέγραψαν κατ' αρχήν για την ίδρυση της ESL, υποννόησε πως οποιαδήποτε εξέλιξη θα εξαρτηθεί από το πόρισμα του Ευρωπαϊκού Δικαστηρίου στην υπόθεση, το οποίο αναμένεται τον προσεχή Ιούνιο ή αργότερα στο δεύτερο μισό του 2022.
«Το ευρωπαϊκό ποδόσφαιρο βρίσκεται σε δεινή κατάσταση και έχει ανάγκη ριζική, ουσιαστική αναδόμηση.

Αίσθηση προκάλεσε η ατάκα του Αντρέα Ανιέλι σε ερώτηση για το πού θα αγωνίζεται η Γιουβέντους σε πέντε χρόνια από σήμερα. Αν δηλαδή υπάρχουν προθέσεις εξόδου από το Champions League για χάρη της ESL κι αν κατά συνέπεια θεωρεί ότι η ιεραρχία των ευρωπαϊκών διοργανώσεων θα έχει αλλάξει σε βάθος πενταετίας. Η απάντησή του ήταν χαρακτηριστική:
«Αν βλέπω τη Γιουβέντους να παίζει στο Champions League σε πέντε χρόνια; Τη βλέπω σίγουρα να παίζει στην κορυφαία ευρωπαϊκή διοργάνωση»
