Guardiola: "We want an attacker"

Pep Guardiola has stated that Manchester City will try to acquire a striker, as they are (still) looking for a replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Guardiola's team played without a classic center forward throughout the current season after the departure of the Argentine last summer.

"I think the team needs a striker, for sure," the Spanish coach told the BBC.

"It seems that we play fantastically and without attack because we win. "But when we do not win, it seems we need an attacker," he said.

City are three points ahead of Liverpool in the standings, but have a worse goal difference compared to Jürgen Klopp's team.

"Are you wondering how these guys play without an attacker?" In the Premier League you have to play with a striker. "Well, we need a striker, I think the club will try to get him," concluded the "Citizens" coach.

Ο Πεπ Γκουαρντιόλα δήλωσε ότι η Μάντσεστερ Σίτι θα προσπαθήσει να αποκτήσει έναν επιθετικό, καθώς αναζητά (ακόμα) τον αντικαταστάτη του Σέρχιο Αγουέρο.

Η ομάδα του Γκουαρδιόλα έπαιξε χωρίς κλασικό σέντερ φορ καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της τρέχουσας περιόδου μετά την αποχώρηση του Αργεντινού το περασμένο καλοκαίρι.

«Πιστεύω ότι η ομάδαα χρειάζεται έναν επιθετικό, σίγουρα», είπε ο Ισπανός τεχνικός σύμφωνα με το BBC.

«Φαίνεται ότι παίζουμε φανταστικά και χωρίς επιθετικό διότι κερδίζουμε. Όταν, όμως, δεν κερδίζουμε, φαίνεται ότι χρειαζόμαστε έναν επιθετικό» ανέφερε. 

Η Σίτι προηγείται στη βαθμολογία με τρεις βαθμούς από τη Λίβερπουλ, αλλά έχει χειρότερη διαφορά τερμάτων σε σύγκριση με την ομάδα του Γιούργκεν Κλοπ.

«Αναρωτιέσαι  πώς παίζουν αυτά τα παιδιά χωρίς επιθετικό; Στην Premier League πρέπει να παίζεις με έναν επιθετικό. Λοιπόν, χρειαζόμαστε έναν επιθετικό, νομίζω ότι ο σύλλογος θα προσπαθήσει να τον πάρει» κατέληξε ο προπονητής των «Πολιτών».
