Roland Garros: Djokovic is faithful to his date

Novak Djokovic advanced to the 3rd round of the Grand Slam for the 15th time in a row, leaving out the Uruguayan, Pablo Cuevas, after a fight that lasted two hours and eight minutes.

The Serbian champion, encountered problems only in the 3rd set of the match and in an emphatic way, qualified for the "32" best of this year Roland Garros.

After his straight sets victory over Tennis Sandgren in the premiere, the No. 1 tennis player in the world prevailed with 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 of No. 92 in the world rankings and in the 3rd round he will meet the Lithuanian, Ricardas Berankis.

Berankis, for his part, after Hugo Uber, eliminated the Australian, James Duckworth with 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-0.

As for Nole's second match in Paris this year, the Serb was effective in the critical moments and was able to overcome the obstacle of Cuevas, without losses, despite the fact that in the 3rd set, a real battle took place.

Djokovic was lucky to save 8/9 break points of his opponent and in combination with the excellent 5/8 that he measured, he completed the test, with brief procedures.

With 65/94 points gained behind his serve, the No. 1 tennis player in the world completed the match, who also won 33/74 in the serve of Cuevas, to get the straight sets victory.

Nole finished the match with 32 winners and 22 effortless errors, compared to Cueva's 31 winners and 26 effortless errors.

This was the 34-year-old Serb's 6th consecutive victory on clay, after the title he won in Belgrade last week. His performances so far in Paris, however, are much better than those he made at Serbia Open 2.

Ο Νόβακ Τζόκοβιτς προκρίθηκε για 15η συνεχόμενη φορά σε 3ο γύρο Grand Slam διοργάνωσης, αφήνοντας εκτός τον Ουρουγουανό, Πάμπλο Κουέβας, μετά από μάχη που διήρκεσε δυο ώρες και οκτώ λεπτά.

Ο Σέρβος πρωταθλητής, συνάντησε προβλήματα μόνο στο 3ο set του αγώνα και με εμφατικό τρόπο, προκρίθηκε στους “32” καλύτερους του φετινού Roland Garros.

Μετά την straight sets νίκη του επί του Τένις Σάντγκρεν στην πρεμιέρα, ο Νο1 τενίστας του κόσμου επικράτησε με 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 του Νο92 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης και στον 3ο γύρο θα συναντήσει τον Λιθουανό, Ρικάρντας Μπεράνκις.

Ο Μπεράνκις από την πλευρά του, μετά τον Ούγκο Ουμπέρ, απέκλεισε και τον Αυστραλό, Τζέιμς Ντάκγουορθ με 7-5, 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-0.

Όσον αφορά το δεύτερο ματς του Νόλε στο Παρίσι για φέτος, ο Σέρβος ήταν αποτελεσματικός στις κρίσιμες στιγμές και μπόρεσε να ξεπεράσει το εμπόδιο του Κουέβας, χωρίς απώλειες, παρά το γεγονός ότι στο 3ο set, έγινε πραγματική μάχη.

Ο Τζόκοβιτς ευτύχησε να σώσει 8/9 break points του αντιπάλου του και σε συνδυασμό με το εξαιρετικό 5/8 που μέτρησε ο ίδιος, έφερε σε πέρας τη δοκιμασία, με συνοπτικές διαδικασίες.

Με 65/94 κερδισμένους πόντους πίσω από το σερβίς του ολοκλήρωσε τον αγώνα ο Νο1 τενίστας στον κόσμο, που κέρδισε και 33/74 στο σερβίς του Κουέβας, για να πάρει τη straight sets νίκη.

Ο Νόλε τελείωσε τον αγώνα με 32 winners και 22 αβίαστα λάθη, σε σχέση με τους 31 winners και τα 26 αβίαστα λάθη, του Κουέβας.

Αυτήν, ήταν η 6η συνεχόμενη νίκη του 34χρονου Σέρβου στη χωμάτινη επιφάνεια, μετά τον τίτλο που κατέκτησε στο Βελιγράδι την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα. Οι εμφανίσεις του μέχρι στιγμής στο Παρίσι πάντως, είναι κατά πολύ καλύτερες με αυτές που έκανε στο Serbia Open 2.
