One of the biggest upsets of this year's Wimbledon was completed by Karolina Muchova, who defeated Coco Gauff 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(10) in a thrilling semi-final and qualified for the second Grand Slam final of her career.

The Czech entered the game excellently and easily won the first set 6-2, but Gauff reacted impressively, equalizing with an emphatic 6-1 and sending the match to a third set.

There, the two athletes fought hard, with the game going to a super tie-break. Muchova led 6-3, but the American made the turnaround and reached a match point at 9-8.

The 29-year-old, however, did not give up. She erased Gauff's match point and with three consecutive points completed a great turnaround, celebrating one of the most important victories of her career.

This was Muchova's second victory against Gauff in 2026, after she had managed to defeat her earlier in the season, ending a negative streak of six consecutive defeats against the American.

In Saturday's grand final, Muchova will face one of Linda Noskova and Marta Kostiuk, claiming the first Grand Slam title of her career.

Μία από τις μεγαλύτερες ανατροπές του φετινού Wimbledon ολοκλήρωσε η Καρολίνα Μούχοβα, η οποία επικράτησε της Κόκο Γκοφ με 6-2, 1-6, 7-6(10) σε έναν συγκλονιστικό ημιτελικό και προκρίθηκε στον δεύτερο τελικό Grand Slam της καριέρας της.

Η Τσέχα μπήκε εξαιρετικά στο παιχνίδι και κατέκτησε εύκολα το πρώτο σετ με 6-2, όμως η Γκοφ αντέδρασε εντυπωσιακά, ισοφαρίζοντας με το εμφατικό 6-1 και στέλνοντας την αναμέτρηση σε τρίτο σετ.

Εκεί οι δύο αθλήτριες έδωσαν μεγάλη μάχη, με το παιχνίδι να οδηγείται στο super tie-break. Η Μούχοβα προηγήθηκε με 6-3, όμως η Αμερικανίδα έκανε την ανατροπή και έφτασε σε match point στο 9-8.

Η 29χρονη, ωστόσο, δεν λύγισε. Έσβησε το match point της Γκοφ και με τρεις συνεχόμενους πόντους ολοκλήρωσε μία σπουδαία ανατροπή, πανηγυρίζοντας μία από τις σημαντικότερες νίκες της καριέρας της.

Αυτή ήταν η δεύτερη νίκη της Μούχοβα απέναντι στη Γκοφ μέσα στο 2026, αφού είχε καταφέρει να τη νικήσει και νωρίτερα μέσα στη σεζόν, βάζοντας τέλος σε ένα αρνητικό σερί έξι διαδοχικών ηττών απέναντι στην Αμερικανίδα.

Στον μεγάλο τελικό του Σαββάτου, η Μούχοβα θα αντιμετωπίσει μία εκ των Λίντα Νοσκόβα και Μάρτα Κόστιουκ, διεκδικώντας τον πρώτο τίτλο Grand Slam της καριέρας της.
