The blue and white team found themselves losing by double digits in the third quarter, but in the fourth quarter they came back and got an important victory for the goal of promotion to the A’ Division.

Zorbala was the leading scorer for the Greek team, scoring 25 points and grabbing 4 rebounds, while Tsianaka's contribution was significant with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.

The match

The Greek team started the match well and took an early double-digit lead (12-2), closing the first quarter with a 20-12 lead.

In the second, the guests typically responded. They initially came close and then overtook (26-27) midway through the period. The lead changed hands several times until the break, where the National Team reached with the smallest of differences (35-34).

The blue and white team continued to struggle to score in the second half, falling behind by double digits (41-51) in the 28th minute, with the third period ending with a score of 44-54.

However, in the final quarter, the “chip” turned. With a 12-0 run at the start, the Greek team took the lead (56-54) and now the match was starting from the beginning.

Vasilis Maslarinos’ girls held on and were more composed in the end, reaching victory.

Η Εθνική Νεανίδων ξεκίνησε με το δεξί επικρατώντας 68-63 της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας για την πρεμιέρα της Β’ κατηγορίας του EuroBasket U18. Σπουδαία εμφάνιση από τη Ζορμπαλά που πέτυχε 25 πόντους.

Με το δεξί ξεκίνησε η Εθνική Νεανίδων στη Β’ κατηγορία του EuroBasket U18 επικρατώντας τη Μεγάλης Βρετανίας με 68-63.

Η γαλανόλευκη βρέθηκε να χάνει και με διψήφιες διαφορές στο τρίτο δεκάλεπτο όμως στο τέταρτο επέστρεψε και πήρε μία σημαντική νίκη για τον στόχο της ανόδου στην Α΄ κατηγορία.

Κορυφαία για την ελληνική ομάδα η Ζορμπαλά που πέτυχε 25 πόντους και μάζεψε 4 ριμπάουντ, ενώ σημαντική ήταν η συνεισφορά της Τσιανάκα με 9 πόντους, 7 ριμπάουντ, 3 ασίστ και 4 κλεψίματα.

Ο αγώνας

Η ελληνική ομάδα ξεκίνησε καλά στην αναμέτρηση και βρήκε νωρίς διψήφιο προβάδισμα (12-2) κλείνοντας το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο με 20-12.

Στο δεύτερο οι τυπικά φιλοξενούμενες αντέδρασαν. Πλησίασαν αρχικά και στη συνέχεια προσπέρασαν (26-27) στα μέσα της περιόδου. Το προβάδισμα άλλαξε αρκετές φορές χέρια ως την ανάπαυλα όπου η Εθνική έφτασε με την ελάχιστη των διαφορών (35-34).

Η γαλανόλευκη συνέχισε να δυσκολεύεται στο σκοράρισμα και στο δεύτερο μέρος με αποτέλεσμα να βρεθούν πίσω με διψήφια απόσταση (41-51) στο 28ο λεπτό με την τρίτη περίοδο να ολοκληρώνεται με 44-54.

Στο τελευταίο δεκάλεπρο όμως το “τσιπ” γύρισε. Με σερί 12-0 στην έναρξή του η ελληνική ομάδα πέρασε μπροστά (56-54) και πλέον το ματς ξεκινούσε από την αρχή.

Τα κορίτσα του Βασίλη Μασλαρινού άντεξαν και στο τέλος ήταν πιο ψύχραιμα φτάνοντας στη νίκη.
