"Dear friends of Borussia Dortmund, I had the honor and joy to serve Borussia's jersey for five season.

A competitor in Borussia Dortmund understood the greatness of this club. I got married, I became one with you, because you are a special, wonderful fan of the world that has not stopped supporting us in the difficult moments.

For you I always gave all my strength, because you deserve it. But the time has come to separate you. A new chapter opens up in my career and Arsenal will be my new home now. Με ένα συγκινητικό μήνυμα αποχαιρέτησε τους φιλάθλους της Borussia Dortmund o Σωκράτης Παπασταθόπουλος, ο οποίος μεταξύ άλλων ανέφερε πως ήταν τιμή του που φόρεσε τη φανέλα της γερμανικής ομάδας. 

Το μήνυμα του Σωκράτη Παπασταθόπουλου στον προσωπικό του λογαριασμό στο instagram:

«Αγαπημένοι φίλοι της Borussia Dortmund, Είχα την τιμή και τη χαρά να υπηρετήσω τη φανέλα της Borussia για πέντε αγωνιστικές σεζόν. 

Σε πολλά παιχνίδια μάλιστα είχα την ξεχωριστή θέση του αρχηγού. 

Μαζί κερδίσαμε 1 Κύπελλο και 2 Σουπερ Καπ Γερμανίας. Συμμετείχαμε τέσσερις φορές στο Champions League και μια στο Europa League. Αγωνιζόμενος στη Borussia Dortmund κατάλαβα το μεγαλείο αυτού του συλλόγου. Δέθηκα, έγινα ένα με εσάς, γιατί είστε ένας ξεχωριστός, υπέροχος φίλαθλος κόσμος, που δεν σταμάτησε να μας στηρίζει στις δύσκολες στιγμές. 

Για εσάς έδινα κάθε φορά όλες μου τις δυνάμεις, γιατί το αξίζετε. Ήρθε όμως η ώρα να σας αποχωριστώ. Ένα νέο κεφάλαιο ανοίγει στην καριέρα μου και η Άρσεναλ θα είναι πλέον το νέο μου σπίτι. Φεύγω από τη Borussia Dortmund για μια ομάδα - θρύλο του ποδοσφαίρου, με εκατομμύρια πιστούς οπαδούς σε όλο τον κόσμο, όπως άλλωστε είναι και η Borussia.
