En los últimos veranos, el nombre del portero internacional belga estaba constantemente en las listas de varios clubes de Europa y en particular en la de Madrid.

Όπως επισημαίνεται, σημαντικός παράγοντας στην εξέλιξη αυτή είναι η επιθυμία του ίδιου του υψηλόσωμου τερματοφύλακα να επιστρέψει στην Μαδρίτη, προκειμένου να βρίσκεται κοντά στα παιδιά του, τα οποία μένουν μόνιμα εκεί.
