Η ΑΕΚ ξεκίνησε τραγικά το παιχνίδι κόντρα στην Εστουδιάντες, βρέθηκε νωρίς στο -19, κόντεψε να φέρει τούμπα τον αγώνα, αλλά τελικά δεν άντεξε και ηττήθηκε με 79-87 στην πρεμιέρα του Basketball Champions League.

Η Εστουδιάντες έχει το παρατσούκλι “φοιτητές”. Κόντρα στην ΑΕΚ ωστόσο οι Ισπανοί αποδείχθηκαν... καθηγητές και πραγματοποιώντας μεστή εμφάνιση πήραν μία δίκαιη νίκη με 87-79, αλώνοντας το ΟΑΚΑ.

Η ΑΕΚ πλήρωσε το τραγικό της ξεκίνημα, αφού βρέθηκε στο -19 μόλις στο 9ο λεπτό του αγώνα (12-31). Έκτοτε κυνηγούσε στο σκορ, καταφέρνοντας να φτάσει αρκετές φορές σε απόσταση βολής χάρη στις ηρωικές προσπάθειες των Τζέιμς, Ξανθόπουλου και Σάκοτα. Πάντα όμως η Εστουδιάντες έβρισκε την ψυχραμία – συνήθως με τον Λάντεσμπεργκ – να διατηρήσει το προβάδισμά της και τελικά να πάρει τη νίκη. Όσο για την διαιτησία για την οποία διαμαρτύρεται η “Ένωση”; Έδωσε τα κουκιά στους Ισπανούς, αλλά αν η ΑΕΚ έπαιζε με βάση τις δυνατότητές της θα είχε κερδίσει.

Ο Σϊλβεν Λάντεσμπεργκ ήταν ο “εκτελεστής” της ΑΕΚ, ολοκληρώνοντας τον αγώνα με 28 πόντους, 5 ριμπάουντ και 3 ασίστ. Ο πρώην παίκτης της Μακάμπι έκανε ό,τι ήθελε στο παρκέ, σκοράροντας όποτε τον είχε ανάγκη η ομάδα του, “κοβοντας” παράλληλα τα πόδια των παικτών της ΑΕΚ σε κρίσιμα σημεία.

H AEK ολοκλήρωσε τον αγώνα με 10 ασίστ και 16 λάθη. Όταν έχεις τέτοια αναλογία ασίστ/λαθών σε ένα τέτοιο παιχνίδι δεν γίνεται να περιμένεις να κερδίσεις.


Ο ΑΓΩΝΑΣ

Η Εστουδιάντες ξεκίνησε ονειρεμένα το παιχνίδι, ξεφεύγοντας νωρίς με μία διψήφια διαφορά (8-18). Δεν έμεινε μάλιστα εκεί, παρά με τους Μπράουν και Λάντεσμπεργκ να κάνουν ό,τι θέλουν στο παρκέ ξέφυγε στην συνέχεια με 10-25 και 12-31 (!) με την ΑΕΚ να μειώνει στο φινάλε της πρώτης περιόδου σε 15-31 με τρίποντο του Τζέιμς.

Στην δεύτερη περίοδο η ΑΕΚ αντέδρασε, μειώνοντας αρχικά σε 24-36. Το πέρασμα του Τζέιμς μάλιστα σε θέση σέντερ έδωσε ευελιξία στην “Ένωση” και με τον Αμερικανό και τον Ξανθόπουλο να κλείνουν τρύπες στην άμυνα οι γηπεδούχοι μείωσαν σε 38-43. Ένα τρίποντο του Λάντεσμπεργκ και ένα λέι-απ του Μπράουν είχαν ως αποτέλεσμα να πάει η Εστουδιάντες στα αποδυτήρια προηγούμενη με 10 πόντους διαφορά (28-38).

Η Εστουδιάντες όμως δεν πτοήθηκε και με τους Κουκ, Τσέτκοβιτς και Λάντεσμπεργκ να πετυχαίνουν μεγάλα σουτ ξέφυγε με 68-79, “καθαρίζοντας” το παιχνίδι.
