Tsitsipas - Coligny 2-1: The 13th title came in Gstaad (vid)

Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Rafael Coligny with 2-1 sets to win the title in the 250-player tournament in Gstaad, reaching the 13th of his career.

Stefanos Tsitsipas had to wait almost 17 months to celebrate a title on the tour, he managed it on the clay courts in Gstaad, Switzerland, defeating the Belgian, Rafael Coligny with 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3 in the final.

The 27-year-old Greek player celebrated the 13th title of his career, 8th in 250 WTA and first since March 1, 2025, when he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the 500m final in Dubai.

Two breaks in two and a lead

The finalists maintained their serve in the first two service games (2-2). Immediately after, Tsitsipas avoided the first break danger, making it 3-2.

And not only that, in the 6th game he led 15-40 and on his first opportunity reached the break for 4-2. Coligny responded immediately with his first break (4-3) and, maintaining his serve, tied the match at 4-4.

But Tsitsipas reacted, leading 5-4, found himself with a double set point (15-40) and at the first opportunity, won the set with a break (6-4).

Lost tie break and 1-1

Molinio started with a break in the 2nd set and easily made it 2-0. Tsitsipas reduced with a love game, in the 5th game after 40-40, with a winner and an ace, reaching 3-2. In fact, he found the break in the next game, equalizing at 3-3, with the 27-year-old Greek taking the lead with 4-3.

Tsitsipas wasted a break point in the 8th game (4-4), but sent the pressure back to his opponent (5-4). Tsitsipas led 0-30 in the 10th game, but Coligny calmly got out of the difficult position.

With a love game, Tsitsipas secured a minimum tie break (6-5) and Coligny in the same way sent the set to extra time. In this, the Belgian started with a mini break (1-0), led 3-0, Tsitsipas reduced to 3-2, but escaped with 5-2, reached a triple set point and won the set 7-6(3).

With 12 consecutive points, he laid the foundations for the title

Tsitsipas tied the set 1-1 at the start of the 3rd set with a love game. In the 3rd game, the Greek player... missed four break opportunities (2-1), and with a new love game he tied it at 2-2.

What he failed to achieve in the 3rd game, Tsitsipas achieved in the 5th: Leading 0-40 and with the 1st opportunity he succeeded, overtaking with 3-2. With a new love game and 12 points won in a row, Tsitsipas escaped 4-2.

Coligny saved a break point to reduce to 4-3, but Tsitsipas did not give the Belgian any more rights and, winning the next two games, closed the set with 6-3 and the final, after two hours and 17 minutes.

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς νικώντας τον Ραφαέλ Κολινιό με 2-1 σετ κατέκτησε τον τίτλο στο 250άρι τουρνουά στο Γκστάαντ, φθάνοντας στους 13 στην καριέρα του.

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς χρειάστηκε να περιμένει 17 σχεδόν μήνες για να πανηγυρίσει τίτλο στο tour, το κατάφερε στα χωμάτινα γήπεδα στο Γκστάαντ της Ελβετίας, νικώντας στον τελικό τον Βέλγο, Ραφαέλ Κολινιό με 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3.

Ο 27χρονος Έλληνας παίκτης πανηγύρισε τον 13ο τίτλο της καριέρας του, 8ο σε 250 WTA και πρώτο μετά την 1η Μαρτίου 2025, όταν νικούσε τον Φελίξ Οζέρ-Αλιασίμ στον τελικό στο 500άρι στο Ντουμπάι.

Δύο στα δύο break και προβάδισμα

Οι φιναλίστ διατήρησαν το σερβίς τους στα δύο πρώτα servise games (2-2). Αμέσως μετά ο Τσιτσιπάς απέφυγε τον πρώτο κίνδυνο break, κάνοντας το 3-2.

Και όχι μόνο αυτό, στο 6ο game προηγήθηκε 15-40 και στην πρώτη δική του ευκαιρία έφθασε στο break για το 4-2. Ο Κολινιό απάντησε αμέσως με το πρώτο δικό του break (4-3) και διατηρώντας το σερβίς του ισοφάρισε σε 4-4.

Όμως ο Τσιτσιπάς είχε αντίδραση, προηγήθηκε με 5-4, βρέθηκε με διπλό set point (15-40) και στην πρώτη ευκαιρία, κατέκτησε με break το σετ (6-4).

Χαμένο tie break και 1-1

O Μολινιό ξεκίνησε με break στο 2ο σετ και με ευκολία έκανε το 2-0. Ο Τσιτσιπάς μείωσε με love game, στο 5ο game μετά το 40-40, με winner και άσο, έφθασε στο 3-2. Μάλιστα βρήκε το break στο επόμενο game, ισοφαρίζοντας σε 3-3, με τον 27χρονο Έλληνα να παίρνει το προβάδισμα με 4-3.

Ο Τσιτσιπάς σπατάλησε break point στο 8o game (4-4), όμως έστειλε ξανά την πίεση στον αντίπαλό του (5-4). Ο Τσιτσιπάς προηγήθηκε 0-30 στο 10ο game, όμως ο Κολινιό με ψυχραιμία βγήκε από τη δύσκολη θέση.

Με love game o Τσιτσιπάς εξασφάλισε μίνιμουμ το tie break (6-5) και ο Κολινιό με τον ίδιο τρόπο έστειλε το σετ στην έξτρα διαδικασία. Σε αυτή ο Βέλγος ξεκίνησε με mini breaκ (1-0), προηγήθηκε 3-0, ο Τσιτσιπάς μείωσε σε 3-2, όμως ξέφυγε με 5-2, έφθασε σε τριπλό set point και κατέκτησε το σετ με 7-6(3).

Με 12 σερί πόντους έβαλε τις βάσεις τίτλου

Ο Τσιτσιπάς με love game ισοφάρισε 1-1 στο ξεκίνημα του 3ου σετ. Στο 3ο game o Έλληνας παίκτης... πέταξε τέσσερις ευκαιρίες για break (2-1), και με νέο love game ισοφάρισε σε 2-2.

Ό,τι δεν πέτυχε στο 3ο game, το κατάφερε στο 5o ο Τσιτσιπάς: Προβάδισμα 0-40 και με την 1η ευκαιρία το πέτυχε προσπερνώντας με 3-2. Με νέο love game και 12 κερδισμένους πόντους στη σειρά, ο Τσιτσιπάς ξέφυγε 4-2.

Ο Κολινιό σώζοντας break point μείωσε σε 4-3, όμως ο Τσιτσιπάς δεν έδωσε άλλα δικαιώματα στον Βέλγο και κατακτώντας τα δύο επόμενα games, έκλεισε το σετ με 6-3 και τον τελικό, έπειτα από δύο ώρες και 17 λεπτά.
