Vikos Ioanninon made an investment in the future, announcing the acquisition of 20-year-old international guard Konstantinos Chantzis.

Chantzis played last season in the Elite League with Doxa Lefkada and GS Sofades, while he was a member of the smaller sections of the National teams.

The Vikos Falcons are adding one of the most promising guards of the new generation to its roster for the new season, which will be playing in the Greek Basketball League.

Konstantinos, who celebrates his 20th birthday today, took his first basketball steps in the infrastructure sections of Proteas Schimatari, while he then stood out with his leading performances in the youth championships wearing the jersey of Cadmus Thives.

His career in the national categories is already full of successes. Last year, competing in National League 1, he celebrated winning the championship and promotion with the Sofades team.

Last year's season (2025-2026) found him competing in the Elite League, sharing the year between Doxa Lefkada and G.S. Sofades, where he made excellent appearances. During his time with Lefkada, Chantzis recorded 17 minutes of participation per game, offering 5.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists, being highly effective near the basket with an impressive 80% on two-pointers.

Returning to Sofades for the rest of the season in the Elite League, the young guard took on a leading role: in almost 29 minutes of participation per game, he stood out for his complex game, offering points (11.3) and rebounds (7.9), while at the same time showing his top creative abilities by sharing 5.7 assists per game.

At the same time, the young ace is a key figure in the small national teams, having just completed his obligations with the National Youth Men's Team (U20) in the European Championship yesterday. During the tournament, he recorded solid statistics with 6.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, culminating in his great performance against Israel, where he reached a triple-double (11 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists).

Επένδυση στο μέλλον έκανε ο Βίκος Ιωάννίνων, που ανακοίνωσε την απόκτηση του 20χρονου διεθνή γκαρντ Κωνσταντίνου Χαντζή.

Ο Χαντζής αγωνίστηκε την περασμένη σεζόν στην Elite League με τη Δόξα Λευκάδας και τον ΓΣ Σοφάδων, ενώ αποτέλεσε μέλος των μικρότερων τμημάτων των Εθνικών ομάδων.

Ο Κωνσταντίνος που γιορτάζει σήμερα τα 20α του γενέθλια, έκανε τα πρώτα του μπασκετικά βήματα στα τμήματα υποδομής του Πρωτέα Σχηματαρίου, ενώ στη συνέχεια ξεχώρισε με τις ηγετικές του εμφανίσεις στα εφηβικά πρωταθλήματα φορώντας τη φανέλα του Κάδμου Θηβών.

Η πορεία του στις εθνικές κατηγορίες είναι ήδη γεμάτη επιτυχίες. Πρόπερσι, αγωνιζόμενος στη National League 1, πανηγύρισε την κατάκτηση του πρωταθλήματος και την άνοδο με την ομάδα των Σοφάδων.

Η περσινή αγωνιστική περίοδος (2025-2026) τον βρήκε να αγωνίζεται στα σαλόνια της Elite League, μοιράζοντας τη χρονιά ανάμεσα στη Δόξα Λευκάδας και τον Γ.Σ. Σοφάδων, όπου πραγματοποίησε εξαιρετικές εμφανίσεις. Στο πέρασμά του από τη Λευκάδα, ο Χαντζής κατέγραψε 17 λεπτά συμμετοχής ανά αγώνα, προσφέροντας 5.6 πόντους, 3.4 ριμπάουντ και 2.8 ασίστ, όντας άκρως αποτελεσματικός κοντά στο καλάθι με το εντυπωσιακό 80% στα δίποντα.

Επιστρέφοντας στους Σοφάδες για το υπόλοιπο της σεζόν στην Elite League, ο νεαρός guard πήρε ηγετικό ρόλο: σε σχεδόν 29 λεπτά συμμετοχής ανά αγώνα, ξεχώρισε για το πολυσύνθετο παιχνίδι του, προσφέροντας σε πόντους (11.3) και ριμπάουντ (7.9), ενώ παράλληλα έδειξε τις κορυφαίες δημιουργικές του ικανότητες μοιράζοντας 5.7 ασίστ ανά παιχνίδι.

Παράλληλα, ο νεαρός άσος αποτελεί βασικό στέλεχος των μικρών εθνικών ομάδων, έχοντας ολοκληρώσει μόλις χθες τις υποχρεώσεις του με την Εθνική Νέων Ανδρών (U20) στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα. Κατά τη διάρκεια του τουρνουά κατέγραψε γεμάτα στατιστικά με 6.6 πόντους, 5.6 ριμπάουντ και 4.0 ασίστ ανά παιχνίδι, με αποκορύφωμα τη σπουδαία εμφάνισή του κόντρα στο Ισραήλ, όπου άγγιξε το triple-double (11 πόντοι, 10 ριμπάουντ, 8 ασίστ).
