F1 - Leclerc urges Ferrari not to give up this year

The Monegasque driver of the Italian team is pushing to change the fortunes of this year's championship and not focus on 2026 right now.

Despite a mediocre start to the 2025 season, Charles Leclerc believes that this year's Formula 1 championship is not over for Scuderia Ferrari. Despite McLaren's clear superiority at the start of the season, the Monegasque seems determined to continue the fight and is not throwing in the towel.

The Monegasque is enjoying a few days of vacation before starting his preparation for the upcoming Miami Grand Prix (2-4 May), but he is making sure to keep Ferrari on their toes.

McLaren may have the lead in terms of performance and points at the moment, but Leclerc is not giving up until it is mathematically impossible: “I think we have to keep believing and giving our best, until it is impossible to claim the title. We are not that far away. We are in a better position than last year and if we continue to work properly, I believe we can close the gap.”

Leclerc believes in Ferrari’s improvement

The Scuderia is preparing upgrades for the coming races, trying to boost the SF-25’s potential and put real pressure on McLaren and Red Bull Racing. However, the package planned for Miami has been extended for Imola so that Maranello’s technicians can maximise the gains.

For Leclerc, the smallest gain can be the one that makes the difference: “We will need every little step. It is important to keep pushing and get the best out of every upgrade that comes.”

The title is a one-way street for Ferrari

After several years without a title, Ferrari knows that it has no room for complacency. Leclerc’s attitude reflects precisely this determination.

The last time it won a Formula 1 title was in 2008 when it won the constructors’ championship. Since then, a drought has followed that is now in its 17th year.

Ο Μονεγάσκος οδηγός της ιταλικής ομάδας πιέζει ώστε να αλλάξει την τύχη της στο φετινό πρωτάθλημα και να μην εστιάσει από τώρα στο 2026.

Παρά το μέτριο ξεκίνημα στη σεζόν του 2025, ο Σαρλ Λεκλέρ πιστεύει πως το φετινό πρωτάθλημα της Formula 1 δεν έχει τελειώσει για τη Scuderia Ferrari. Παρά την ξεκάθαρη ανωτερότητα της McLaren στην αρχή της σεζόν, ο Μονεγάσκος δείχνει αποφασισμένος να συνεχίσει τη μάχη και δεν πετάει λευκή πετσέτα.

Ο Μονεγάσκος απολαμβάνει ολιγοήμερες διακοπές πριν ξεκινήσει την προετοιμασία στου για το επερχόμενο Grand Prix Μαϊάμι (2-4 Μαΐου), όμως φροντίζει να κρατά τη Ferrari σε εγρήγορση.

Η McLaren μπορεί να έχει το προβάδισμα σε απόδοση και βαθμολογία αυτή τη στιγμή, όμως ο Λεκλέρ δεν παρατάει τη μάχη μέχρι να είναι μαθηματικά αδύνατο: «Πιστεύω ότι πρέπει να συνεχίσουμε να πιστεύουμε και να δίνουμε τον καλύτερό μας εαυτό, μέχρι να είναι αδύνατο να διεκδικήσουμε τον τίτλο. Δεν είμαστε τόσο μακριά. Βρισκόμαστε σε καλύτερη θέση σε σχέση με πέρσι και αν συνεχίσουμε να δουλεύουμε σωστά, πιστεύω ότι μπορούμε να κλείσουμε τη διαφορά».

Ο Λεκλέρ πιστεύει στη βελτίωση της Ferrari

Η Scuderia ετοιμάζει αναβαθμίσεις για τους επόμενους αγώνες, προσπαθώντας να ενισχύσει τη δυναμική της SF-25 και να ασκήσει πραγματική πίεση στη McLaren και τη Red Bull Racing. Το πακέτο που ήταν προγραμματισμένο για το Μαϊάμι όμως, πήρε παράταση για την Ίμολα ώστε οι τεχνικοί του Μαρανέλο να μεγιστοποιήσουν τα κέρδη.

Για τον Λεκλέρ, το παραμικρό κέρδος μπορεί να είναι αυτό που κάνει τη διαφορά: «Θα χρειαστούμε κάθε μικρό βήμα. Είναι σημαντικό να συνεχίσουμε να πιέζουμε και να παίρνουμε ό,τι καλύτερο μπορούμε από κάθε αναβάθμιση που έρχεται».

Ο τίτλος είναι μονόδρομος για τη Ferrari

Μετά από αρκετά χρόνια χωρίς τίτλο, η Ferrari ξέρει ότι δεν έχει περιθώρια για εφησυχασμό. H στάση του Λεκλέρ αντικατοπτρίζει ακριβώς αυτήν την αποφασιστικότητα.

Τελευταία φορά που πήρε τίτλο στη Formula 1 ήταν το 2008 όταν κατέκτησε το πρωτάθλημα κατασκευαστών. Έκτοτε έχει ακολουθήσει μία ξηρασία που βρίσκεται στον 17ο χρόνος της.
