Panathinaikos defeated the home of Efes with 81-77 with Kendrick Nan as the leader and Dinos Mitoglou hot when needed. The greens made it 2-1 in the series and want a win for Abu Dhabi.
Break after break with Panathinaikos passing with 81-77 from the Basketball Development Center on Wednesday night (30/4) and taking the lead again (2-1) in the EuroLeague playoffs series with Efes.
Kendrick Nunn was the well-known Kendrick Nunn (25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists), Kostas Sloukas organized and led as he should, while Dinos Mitoglou contributed 18 points, with a crucial three-pointer 6.5″ before the final.
The MVP
Kendrick Nunn of course. His statistics were 25 points (9/13 points, 0/2 three-pointers, 7/7 shots), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 fouls, 1 block and 31 PIR. In short, the leading scorer and MVP of the EuroLeague returned to normal levels for him.

The game
Panathinaikos lined up at the Basketball Development Center with Grant, Nan, Osman, Mitoglou and Gabriel. The Turkish forward stole and nailed a surprise to open the score, the greens led 5-9 in the 3rd minute, but Efes started to pick up the pace with Osmani offering 10 points in 7’30” (18-14).
The home team closed the period at +3 (23-20, 10′) with 5/11 three-pointers and 8 assists for 9 baskets.
Sloukas’ entry onto the court helped the greens a lot in the second period. The international Greek guard had 8 points and 2 assists to help his team go to the locker room with a 6-point lead (39-45, 20′).
With three consecutive baskets by Nan - one at the end of the first half and two at the start of the third period - Ataman's team found itself in double digits for the first time (39-49, 22′). The greens kept a safe distance, although Efes found two good defenses and two baskets in surprise at the end of the 3rd period for 54-63 (30′).
The guests were left without a basket for almost 5′, with Efes reducing it to 61-63 (33′). At 35’37” the hosts brought the match to a draw (68-68) after a basket by Oturou. Nan and Oturou wrote 70-70 (37′). Nan made 2/2 shots for 70-72 (38’18”). Larkin and Gabriel formed 72-74 (39′).

Ο Παναθηναϊκός παρατάχθηκε στο Basketball Development Center με τους Γκραντ, Ναν, Όσμαν, Μήτογλου και Γκέιμπριελ. Ο Τούρκος φόργουορντ έκλεψε και κάρφωσε στον αιφνιδιασμό για να ανοίξει το σκορ, οι πράσινοι προηγήθηκαν 5-9 στο 3′, όμως η Εφές άρχισε να ανεβάζει στροφές με τον Οσμάνι να προσφέρει 10 πόντους σε 7’30” (18-14).
Οι γηπεδούχοι έκλεισαν την περίοδο στο +3 (23-20, 10′) έχοντας 5/11 τρίποντα και 8 ασίστ για 9 καλάθια.
Η είσοδος του Σλούκα στο παρκέ βοήθησε πάρα πολύ τους πράσινους στη δεύτερη περίοδο. Ο διεθνής Έλληνας γκαρντ είχε 8 πόντους και 2 ασίστ για να βοηθήσει την ομάδα του να πάει στα αποδυτήρια με ένα προβάδισμα της τάξης των 6 πόντων (39-45, 20′).
Με τρία συνεχόμενα καλάθι του Ναν -ένα στην εκπνοή του πρώτου μέρους και δύο στο ξεκίνημα της τρίτης περιόδου- η ομάδα του Αταμάν βρέθηκε για πρώτη φορά σε διψήφια απόσταση (39-49, 22′). Οι πράσινοι κράτησαν μια απόσταση ασφαλείας, παρότι η Εφές βρήκε δύο καλές άμυνες και δύο καλάθια στον αιφνιδιασμό στο τέλος της 3ης περίοδο για το 54-63 (30′).
