Initially, according to the latest information in Gazzetta from Barcelona, ​​everything converges in that the teams will hardly increase from 18 to 20 for reasons that have to do with difficulties surrounding the preparation of the program/calendar of the competition.

Everything leads, therefore, to the conclusion that the same format with 34 matches will be followed next year.

In addition to Valencia's great will to organize the Final Four of the next season, Belgrade has also submitted a candidacy, as it did this year, but the connection of the wild card with the new most modern stadium in Europe has given the Spaniards a huge advantage.

The Roig Arena will open its gates next September, will have a capacity of 15,600 spectators and the total cost will exceed 300 million Euros.

Somewhere here it should be noted that there was also literary interest from Athens in hosting the Final Four at OAKA but it did not proceed further. The final decision for the Final Four of the 2025-26 season will probably be announced during the Final Four in Abu Dhabi.

If we consider that Valencia will get one wild card and Monaco (because they finished higher than Paris), the two Serbian teams (one from the Adriatic and the other with a wild card), Hapoel Tel Aviv (EuroCup) and the 12 with contracts, we make a total of 17 teams, so it is expected that there will be a... battle for a place between Alba Berlin, Virtus Bologna, Paris and Dubai BC.

Unless on 12/05 at the scheduled meeting in Barcelona the proposal for 20 teams is passed (something that the Spanish and Italian teams that play many games in their leagues do not want) and thus we are led to a 38-game regular season format in the EuroLeague. Όλα οδηγούν, λοιπόν, στο συμπέρασμα ότι και του χρόνου θα ακολουθηθεί το ίδιο format με τις 34 αγωνιστικές.

Πέρα από τη μεγάλη θέληση της Βαλένθια να διοργανώσει το Final Four της επόμενης σεζόν, υποψηφιότητα έχει θέσει και το Βελιγράδι, όπως έγινε και φέτος αλλά η σύνδεση της wild card με το νέο πιο σύγχρονο γήπεδο στην Ευρώπη έχει δώσει τεράστιο προβάδισμα στους Ισπανούς.

Η Roig Arena θα ανοίξει τις πύλες της τον ερχόμενο Σεπτέμβριο, θα έχει χωρητικότητα 15.600 θεατές και το συνολικό κόστος θα ξεπεράσει τα 300 εκ. Ευρώ.

Κάπου εδώ να σημειωθεί ότι υπήρξε φιλολογικό ενδιαφέρον και από την Αθήνα για τη φιλοξενία του Final Four στο ΟΑΚΑ αλλά δεν προχώρησε περαιτέρω. Η οριστική απόφαση για το Final Four της σεζόν 2025-26 θα ανακοινωθεί πιθανότατα στην διάρκεια του Final Four στο Άμπου Ντάμπι.

Όσον αφορά το ζήτημα που έχει προκύψει με τον αριθμό των ομάδων, υπάρχουν τα εξής δεδομένα.

Αν θεωρήσουμε ότι η Βαλένθια θα πάρει τη μία wild card και η Μονακό (επειδή τερμάτισε πιο ψηλά από την Παρί), οι δύο Σέρβικες (η μια από την Αδριατικη και η άλλη με wild card), η Χάποελ Τελ Αβίβ (EuroCup) και οι 12 με συμβόλαιο, μας κάνουν στο σύνολο 17 ομάδες, οπότε αναμένεται να γίνει... μάχη για μια θέση ανάμεσα σε Άλμπα Βερολίνου, Βίρτους Μπολόνια, Παρί και Ντουμπάι BC.

Εκτός κι αν στις 12/05 στην προγραμματισμένη συνεδρίαση στην Βαρκελώνη περάσει η πρόταση για τις 20 ομάδες (κάτι που δεν επιθυμούν οι ισπανικές και οι ιταλικές ομάδες που παίζουν πολλά παιχνίδια στις λίγκες τους) κι έτσι οδηγηθούμε σε format 38 αγώνων κανονικής περιόδου στη EuroLeague. Ωστόσο κάτι τέτοιο φαντάζει εξαιρετικά δύσκολο για την ώρα.
