Kessler - Sakkari 0-2: Premiere at idle... and comfortable qualification
Maria Sakkari started her duties at Wimbledon with the right hand, winning in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) over McCartney Kessler in the first round of the competition.
"Stop" in the series with defeats in the first rounds was put by Maria Sakkari, who prevailed with relative ease against McCartney Kessler and with 6-3, 6-1 got the ticket for the second round of Wimbledon.

The break did not worry her and with a series of games won she took the lead
The match started with the two athletes being stable behind their serve and Maria Sakkari staying in front of the score of the set until the second change of sides (2-1). Kessler equalized and then took advantage of the break points that appeared to her and managed to take the lead (3-2).
Of course, Sakkari found an immediate answer and with a break back brought the balance back to the set to regain the lead (4-3). The Greek, however, did not stop there as she made a second break (5-3) and with the balls in her hands she made it 6-3 to take the lead in the match.
Greek... monologue and a series of breaks gave the victory
The second set started with consecutive breaks and Kessler serving first. Sakkari... broke the American's first service game in the set, but received an immediate answer (1-1).
This was also the only game that Kessler took in the second part of the match, as Sakkari Ousa made a stormy 5-0 run. 6-1 was the final score of the second set, with the Greek celebrating qualifying for the second round of Wimbledon.
The world No.9 in the next phase of the British Grand Slam will face the winner of the match Aradha Rush - Wei Wan.

Με το... δεξί ξεκίνησε τις υποχρεώσεις της στο Wimbledon η Μαρία Σάκκαρη, παίρνοντας τη νίκη με straight sets (6-3, 6-1) επί της ΜακΚάρτνεϊ Κέσλερ στον πρώτο γύρο της διοργάνωσης.
«Στοπ» στο σερί με τις ήττες σε πρώτους γύρους έβαλε η Μαρία Σάκκαρη, η οποία επικράτησε με σχετική άνεση της ΜακΚάρτνεϊ Κέσλερ και με 6-3, 6-1 πήρε το εισιτήριο για τον δεύτερο γύρο του Wimbledon.

Δεν την ανησύχησε το break και με σερί κερδισμένα games πήρε προβάδισμα
Η αναμέτρηση ξεκίνησε με τις δύο αθλήτριες να είναι σταθερές πίσω από το σερβίς τους και την Μαρία Σάκκαρη να μένει μπροστά στο σκορ του σετ μέχρι τη δεύτερη αλλαγή πλευράς (2-1). Η Κέσλερ ισοφάρισε και στη συνέχεια εκμεταλλεύτηκε τα break points που της εμφανίστηκαν και κατάφερε να πάρει κεφάλι στο σκορ (3-2).
Βέβαια, η Σάκκαρη βρήκε άμεση απάντηση και με break back έφερε ξανά τις ισορροπίες στο σετ για να πάρει εκ νέου το προβάδισμα (4-3). H Ελληνίδα, όμως, δεν σταμάτησε εκεί καθώς πραγματοποίησε δεύτερο break (5-3) και με τις μπάλες στα χέρια έκανε το 6-3 για να πάρει προβάδισμα στον αγώνα.
Ελληνικός... μονόλος και σερί breaks έδωσαν τη νίκη
Το δεύτερο σετ ξεκίνησε με συνεχόμενα breaks και την Κέσλερ να σερβίρει πρώτη. Η Σάκκαρη... έσπασε το πρώτο service game της Αμερικανίδας στο σετ, όμως, δέχθηκε άμεση απάντηση (1-1).
Αυτό ήταν και το μοναδικό game που πήρε η Κέσλερ στο δεύτερο σκέλος του ματς, καθώς η Σάκκαρη ούσα καταιγιστική πραγματοποίησε σερί 5-0. To 6-1 ήταν το τελικό σκορ του δεύτερου σετ, με τη Ελληνίδα να πανηγυρίζει την πρόκριση στον δεύτερο γύρο του Wimbledon.
Η Νο.9 του κόσμου στην επόμενη φάση του βρετανικού Grand Slam θ' αντιμετωπίσει τη νικήτρια από την αναμέτρηση Αράντχα Ρας - Γουέ Γουάν.
