Juancar: "Panathinaikos was an incredible experience, I would like to retire there but..."

Juancar spoke about the years he spent at Panathinaikos and of course about the big game with Betis that is coming up.

Juancar gave an interview to the Spanish "ABC" on the occasion of Panathinaikos' game with Betis, since he is a footballer who has worn the jersey of both teams.

The Spanish left-back referred to the time he spent at Panathinaikos, describing it as an incredible experience, during which he also won titles, the only ones of his career.

He emphasized that the "greens" are something similar to Real Madrid and Barcelona in Greece, while he said that he would have liked to have stayed at the club for another year and retired there, but things have changed.

As for the game, he clarified that there is no favorite since Betis is not in its best phase, but Panathinaikos does not have a significant lead from the first game.

How did you see the first game?

The match was somewhat boring and was decided in the end by a penalty. VAR now intervenes in the slightest and changes football.

What memories do you have of Panathinaikos?

I stayed for four years and played everything. It was an incredible experience. I won two Greek Cups. It is a team that is like Real Madrid or Barcelona there and it was a big step in my career, where I gained recognition, experience and maturity. I would have liked to stay one more year and retire there, but things have changed.

This year is not the best year for Panathinaikos, but due to the people and history it remains an important club. In Europe they are very motivated, because in the league they have no options and they are focused on the Europa League. They are a club with international recognition. What both teams have in common is that they are loved by a lot of people.

What will happen in the second leg?

Anything can happen, because everything is very balanced. Betis has the home advantage. They are not in their best phase, but they are a team with experience and very good players. The difference of one goal is nothing. I don't see a favorite.

What do you want to happen?

It is difficult. I want a good game, for the people to enjoy it and for the best to go through. I have great respect for both teams.

Betis plays at home, but there have been boos.

People want to see effort. In my time, even though we were fighting to stay, they recognized the effort. If you show that you give it your all, people reward you. It is positive to play at home, if you take advantage of the atmosphere.

How do you remember the stand?

Betis has an incredible crowd. One of the best I've ever encountered, along with Panathinaikos. We also had a good atmosphere at Rosaleda. At Betis, the year we qualified for Europe, we were flying with the crowd. It could be "one more player".

Every coach has his own way. With Benitez, Panathinaikos will probably play more closed to protect the result. Betis must be patient.

Which player do you stand out?

I have a good relationship with Pablo Fornals, he's excellent. Betis has a very good team.

The 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons?

One was a success with a place in Europe and the other was a disaster with relegation. Mistakes were made in management and no attention was paid to Europe.

Are there any differences with today's Betis?

No difference. Today it is one of the top clubs in Spain in terms of organization. Pellegrini was decisive. A good coach can change everything.

Ο Χουάνκαρ μίλησε για τα χρόνια που βρέθηκε στον Παναθηναϊκό και φυσικά για το μεγάλο παιχνίδι με τη Μπέτις που έρχεται.

Ο Χουάνκαρ παραχώρησε συνέντευξη στο ισπανικό «ABC» με αφορμή το παιχνίδι του Παναθηναϊκού με τη Μπέτις, αφού πρόκειται για έναν ποδοσφαιριστή που έχει φορέσει τη φανέλα και των δύο ομάδων.

Ο Ισπανός αριστερός μπακ αναφέρθηκε στο διάστημα που πέρασε στον Παναθηναϊκό χαρακτηρίζοντάς το ως μία απίστευτη εμπειρία, κατά την οποία κέρδισε και τίτλους, τους μοναδικούς της καριέρας του.

Τόνισε πως οι «πράσινοι» είναι κάτι αντίστοιχο με τη Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης και τη Μπαρτσελόνα στην Ελλάδα ενώ είπε πως θα ήθελε να είχε παραμείνει έναν χρόνο ακόμα στο κλαμπ και να αποσυρθεί εκεί, όμως τα πράγματα άλλαξαν.

Όσο για το παιχνίδι, ξεκαθάρισε πως δεν υπάρχει φαβορί μιας και η Μπέτις δεν είναι στην καλύτερη φάση της, αλλά και ο Παναθηναϊκός δεν έχει κάποιο σημαντικό προβάδισμα από το πρώτο παιχνίδι.

Πώς είδατε το πρώτο παιχνίδι;

Το ματς ήταν κάπως βαρετό και κρίθηκε στο τέλος με το πέναλτι. Το VAR επεμβαίνει πλέον με το παραμικρό και αλλάζει το ποδόσφαιρο.

Τι αναμνήσεις έχετε από τον Παναθηναϊκό;

Έμεινα τέσσερα χρόνια και έπαιξα τα πάντα. Ήταν μια απίστευτη εμπειρία. Κατέκτησα δύο Κύπελλα Ελλάδας. Είναι μια ομάδα που εκεί είναι σαν τη Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης ή τη Μπαρτσελόνα και αποτέλεσε ένα μεγάλο βήμα στην καριέρα μου, όπου απέκτησα αναγνώριση, εμπειρία και ωριμότητα. Θα ήθελα να μείνω έναν χρόνο ακόμη και να αποσυρθώ εκεί, αλλά άλλαξαν τα πράγματα.

Φέτος δεν είναι η καλύτερη χρονιά για τον Παναθηναϊκό, αλλά λόγω κόσμου και ιστορίας παραμένει σημαντικός σύλλογος. Στην Ευρώπη έχουν μεγάλο κίνητρο, γιατί στο πρωτάθλημα δεν έχουν επιλογές και έχουν επικεντρωθεί στο Europa League. Είναι ένας σύλλογος με διεθνή αναγνώριση. Αυτό που μοιάζουν και οι δύο ομάδες είναι ότι τις αγαπά πολύς κόσμος.

Τι θα συμβεί στη ρεβάνς;

Μπορούν να συμβούν τα πάντα, γιατί όλα είναι πολύ ισορροπημένα. Η Μπέτις έχει το πλεονέκτημα της έδρας. Δεν είναι στην καλύτερη φάση της, αλλά είναι ομάδα με εμπειρία και πολύ καλούς παίκτες. Η διαφορά του ενός γκολ δεν είναι τίποτα. Δεν βλέπω φαβορί.

Εσείς τι θέλετε να συμβεί;

Είναι δύσκολο. Θέλω να γίνει ένα καλό παιχνίδι, να το ευχαριστηθεί ο κόσμος και να περάσει ο καλύτερος. Έχω μεγάλη εκτίμηση και στις δύο ομάδες.

Η Μπέτις παίζει εντός, αλλά υπήρξαν αποδοκιμασίες.

Ο κόσμος θέλει να βλέπει προσπάθεια. Στην εποχή μου, παρότι παλεύαμε για την παραμονή, αναγνώριζαν την προσπάθεια. Αν δείξεις ότι τα δίνεις όλα, ο κόσμος στο ανταποδίδει. Είναι θετικό να παίζει εντός, αν εκμεταλλευτεί την ατμόσφαιρα.

Πώς θυμάστε την εξέδρα;

Η Μπέτις έχει απίστευτο κόσμο. Από τους καλύτερους που έχω συναντήσει μαζί με του Παναθηναϊκού. Στο Ροσαλέδα επίσης είχαμε καλό κλίμα. Στη Μπέτις, τη χρονιά που βγήκαμε Ευρώπη, πετούσαμε με τον κόσμο. Μπορεί να είναι «ένας παίκτης παραπάνω».

Μανουέλ Πελεγκρίνι εναντίον Ράφα Μπενίτεθ.

Κάθε προπονητής έχει τον τρόπο του. Με τον Μπενίτεθ, ο Παναθηναϊκός πιθανότατα θα παίξει πιο κλειστά για να προστατεύσει το αποτέλεσμα. Η Μπέτις πρέπει να έχει υπομονή.

Ποιον παίκτη ξεχωρίζετε;

Έχω καλή σχέση με τον Πάμπλο Φορνάλς, είναι εξαιρετικός. Η Μπέτις έχει πολύ καλό σύνολο.

Η σεζόν 2012-13 και η 2013-14;

Η μία ήταν επιτυχία με έξοδο στην Ευρώπη και η άλλη καταστροφή με υποβιβασμό. Έγιναν λάθη στη διαχείριση και δεν δόθηκε σημασία στην Ευρώπη.

Υπάρχουν διαφορές με το σημερινό Betis;

Καμία σχέση. Σήμερα είναι ένας από τους κορυφαίους συλλόγους στην Ισπανία οργανωτικά. Ο Πελεγκρίνι ήταν καθοριστικός. Ένας καλός προπονητής μπορεί να αλλάξει τα πάντα.
