Real Madrid "cleaned" Anadolu Efes (82-71) of the formidable Jordan Lloyd (21pts, 5rpm, 6as) and... caught Olympiacos in 2nd place in the standings (22-12 record).

Sergio Scariolo's team saw the Turks stand up and fight the game in Madrid. However, the superiority of the home team, the dominance in rebounds (17 rpg) and their effective defense when the match was "burning" were enough to tip the scales in their favor. Thus, the Madrid team extended their home series (17-1!), as their only defeat at the "Movistar Arena" is still the one against Panathinaikos Aktor in the First Round.

With this victory, the "queen" improved its record to 22-12 and "caught" the "red and white" team in 2nd place in the standings. We recall that the "merengues" had defeated Piraeus in the 2nd matchday with +12 (89-77), with the... rematch set for Holy Tuesday at Olympiacos' home (7/4). In any case, such victories make Real feel even more secure in terms of home advantage. On the other hand, the record of the disappointing Anadolu Efes dropped to 10-24.

The winners were led by... the usual suspects. Trey Lyles made 4/5 three-pointers and scored a total of 14 points, with Facundo Campazzo masterfully organizing his team (10 points, 7 assists). Eddie Tavares "touched" the double-double (10 points, 9 rebounds), Gabriel Deck was valuable -especially in the final stretch- (11 points, 7 rebounds), and Mario Hezonja (12 points) also scored in double figures.

On the other hand, Jordan Lloyd made a legendary appearance, which was not enough for the Turks. The experienced guard in 29' on the court scored 21 points with excellent percentages (3/3 two-pointers, 4/6 three-pointers, 3/4 shots), brought down 5 rebounds, handed out 6 assists and made 1 steal with 0 errors (35 PIR).

Dynamic Turkish start with an eager Lloyd

The Turks started the game very imposingly, having 8 points from Jordan Lloyd in the first minutes and 3/5 three-pointers for +12 (5-17 in 6'). Overall, in the 1st period Real Madrid was very inaccurate (3/16 two-pointers), did not take advantage of its offensive rebounds (6 rebounds) and had no rhythm (11-19 in 10'). Furthermore, in the quarter Ercan Osmani did "damage" to the home team (5pts, 5r).

Campazzo, Lyles and Yule turned the situation around

Then the situation changed radically. The Spaniards tightened their defense and overtook halfway through the 2nd period (28-26 at 15'). In fact, Sergio Scariolo's team, with the creations of Facundo Campazzo (6as.), managed to... step on the gas and find offensive solutions from Trey Lyles (11pts with 3/3 3pts) and Sergio Yule (8pts with 2/2 3pts). The double-digit Mario Hezona and Eddie Tavares took the... baton in the replay and the "queen" remained in the driving position, now having "good" differences (52-40 at 25'). On the other side, Pablo Laso's team made a lot of mistakes (12 minutes), was not as effective behind 6.75m. (6/20 3pts now), but with a small "outburst" at the end of the quarter did not lose... contact with Real (60-53 at 30').

Lloyd took his... weapon again in the final stretch and Efes felt "alive" (64-60 at 33'). The Turks scored again and again and Lyles' three-pointer "cleaned up" the match (75-62 in 36'), with Real "sealing" the necessary victory (82-71 final).

Η Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης «καθάρισε» την Αναντολού Εφές (82-71) του τρομερού Τζόρνταν Λόιντ (21π., 5ρ., 6ασ.) και... έπιασε τον Ολυμπιακό στη 2η θέση της βαθμολογίας (22-12 ρεκόρ).

Η ομάδα του Σέρτζιο Σκαριόλο είδε τους Τούρκους να ορθώνουν το ανάστημά τους και να παλεύουν το παιχνίδι στη Μαδρίτη. Όμως, η ανωτερότητα των γηπεδούχων, η κυριαρχία στα ριμπάουντ (17 επ. ριμπ.) και η αποτελεσματική τους άμυνα όταν το ματς «έκαιγε» ήταν αρκετά για να γείρουν την πλάστιγγα υπέρ τους. Έτσι, οι Μαδριλένοι διεύρυναν το εντός έδρας σερί τους (17-1!), καθώς η μοναδική ήττα τους στην "Movistar Arena" εξακολουθεί να είναι εκείνη από τον Παναθηναϊκό Aktor στον Α' Γύρο.

Με τη νίκη αυτή η «βασίλισσα» βελτίωσε το ρεκόρ της σε 22-12 και «έπιασε» τους «ερυθρόλευκους» στη 2η θέση της βαθμολογίας. Θυμίζουμε πως οι «μερένχες» είχαν επιβληθεί των Πειραιωτών στη 2η αγωνιστική με +12 (89-77), με τη... ρεβάνς να έχει οριστεί για την Μεγάλη Τρίτη στην έδρα του Ολυμπιακού (7/4). Σε κάθε περίπτωση, τέτοιες νίκες κάνουν τη Ρεάλ να νιώθει ακόμα πιο ασφαλής σε ό,τι αφορά το πλεονέκτημα έδρας. Από την άλλη, το ρεκόρ της απογοητευτικής Αναντολού Εφές υποχώρησε στο 10-24.

Πρωταγωνιστές των νικητών ήταν οι... συνήθεις ύποπτοι. Ο Τρέι Λάιλς έβαλε 4/5 τρίποντα και μέτρησε συνολικά 14 πόντους, με τον Φακούντο Καμπάτσο να οργανώνει μαεστρικά την ομάδα του (10 πόντοι, 7 ασίστ). «Άγγιξε» το double - double ο Έντι Ταβάρες (10 πόντοι, 9 ριμπάουντ), πολύτιμος -ειδικά στην τελική ευθεία- ο Γκάμπριελ Ντεκ (11 πόντοι, 7 ριμπάουντ), διψήφιος και ο Μάριο Χεζόνια (12π.). 

Από την άλλη, ο Τζόρνταν Λόιντ έκανε μια μυθική εμφάνιση, η οποία δεν ήταν αρκετή στους Τούρκους. Ο έμπειρος γκαρντ σε 29' στο παρκέ έβαλε 21 πόντους με εξαιρετικά ποσοστά (3/3 δίποντα, 4/6 τρίποντα, 3/4 βολές), κατέβασε 5 ριμπάουντ, μοίρασε 6 ασίστ και έκανε 1 κλέψιμο με 0 λάθη (35 PIR).

Δυναμικό τουρκικό ξεκίνημα με ορεξάτο Λόιντ

Οι Τούρκοι ξεκίνησαν πολύ επιβλητικά το παιχνίδι, έχοντας 8π. του Τζόρνταν Λόιντ στα πρώτα λεπτά και 3/5 τρίποντα για το +12 (5-17 στο 6'). Συνολικά, στην 1η περίοδο η Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης ήταν πολύ άστοχη (3/16 δίποντα), δεν εκμεταλλευόταν τα επιθετικά ριμπάουντ της (6 επ. ριμπ.) και δεν είχε ρυθμό (11-19 στο 10'). Επιπλέον, στο δεκάλεπτο ο Ερτσάν Οσμάνι έκανε «ζημιά» στους γηπεδούχους (5π., 5ρ.).

Καμπάτσο, Λάιλς και Γιουλ γύρισαν την κατάσταση

Στη συνέχεια η κατάσταση άλλαξε ριζικά. Οι Ισπανοί έσφιξαν αμυντικά και προσπέρασαν στα μισά της 2ης περιόδου (28-26 στο 15'). Μάλιστα, η ομάδα του Σέρτζιο Σκαριόλο με τις δημιουργίες του Φακούντο Καμπάτσο (6ασ.) κατάφερε να... πατήσει γκάζι και να βρει επιθετικές λύσεις από τους Τρέι Λάιλς (11π. με 3/3 3π.) και Σέρχιο Γιουλ (8π με 2/2 3π.). Έτσι, οι Μαδριλένοι «έκλεισαν» το Α' Μέρος έχοντας το «πάνω χέρι» (42-33 στο 20'). 

Στο «τιμόνι» η Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, αλλά...

Οι διψήφιοι Μάριο Χεζόνια και Έντι Ταβάρες πήραν τη... σκυτάλη στην επανάληψη και η «βασίλισσα» παρέμεινε σε θέση οδηγού, έχοντας πια «καλές» διαφορές (52-40 στο 25'). Στην αντίπερα όχθη, το σύνολο του Πάμπλο Λάσο έκανε μαζεμένα λάθη (12λ.), δεν ήταν το ίδιο αποτελεσματικό πίσω από τα 6,75μ. (6/20 3π. πια), αλλά με ένα μικρό «ξέσπασμα» στο φινάλε του δεκαλέπτου δεν έχασε την... επαφή με τη Ρεάλ (60-53 στο 30').

Ένα «ξέσπασμα» των γηπεδούχων ήταν αρκετό για να «κλειδώσει» τη νίκη

Ο Λόιντ πήρε ξανά το... όπλο του στην τελική ευθεία και η Εφές ένιωσε «ζωντανή» (64-60 στο 33'). Ο Αμερικανός σκόρερ με το πολωνικό διαβατήριο είχε 16π., 5ασ., ενώ πήρε και το 4ο φάουλ του Αντρέ Φελίζ. Σε εκείνο το σημείο, το τρίποντο του Γκάμπριελ Ντεκ έδωσε «ανάσα» στους γηπεδούχους και το coast to coast του Τεό Μαλεντόν ανάγκασε τον Λάσο να πάρει time out (70-62 στο 34'). Ο Ουσμάν Γκαρούμπα έπαιξε μια εντυπωσιακή άμυνα, ο πολύτιμος Ντεκ έστειλε τους γηπεδούχους σε διψήφια απόσταση (72-62 στο 35') και η πλάστιγγα φάνηκε να γέρνει έπειτα από αυτό το απαραίτητο «ξέσπασμα». Οι Τούρκοι σημάδευαν σίδερο ξανά και ξανά και το τρίποντο του Λάιλς «καθάρισε» το ματς (75-62 στο 36'), με τη Ρεάλ να «σφραγίζει» την απαραίτητη νίκη (82-71 τελικό).
