Proteas Voulas impressed and surprised in Kavala, defeating Panathinaikos in overtime with 80-76 (70-70 a.d.) and advanced to the Allwyn Cup of Greece final.

Mali Morgan was the star of the winners, recording a double-double performance with 17 points and 12 rebounds, with Jensen following her with 16 points.

From the green team, Fitzgerald was the one who stood out with 19 points, while collecting eight rebounds and distributing four assists. At 15 points, she stopped at 15 points, with Spanou following her with 14 points, collecting 16 rebounds.

From the pair Athinaicos - Panathlitikos, the opponent that Proteas Voulas will face in the final of the competition will emerge, which is scheduled for Sunday (29/3) at 17:45.

The match

Proteas Voulas had the first say in the first quarter, holding the lead throughout the period. However, in the second period, Panathinaikos increased the pace of the attack and returned to the match, reducing it to six midway through the period (20-26). From that point on, Proteas Voulas had difficulty finding solutions in the attack, with the greens taking advantage of it and escaping with a double-digit difference (39-49). A few seconds later, Proteas made a small reaction, reducing the lead to five, after two big three-pointers by Mali and Boyko (48-53).

In the fourth quarter, Proteas Voulas had the first say, managing to regain the lead by three points five minutes before the end of the match (60-57). The match was a thriller until the last seconds, with Proteas holding on to the lead tooth and nail (69-67). Brown won three shots, with herself missing the opportunity to give Panathinaikos the lead, missing two of three shots (69-68). Fitzgerald tied the game for Panathinaikos, with Sakellariou missing a three-pointer for Proteas, with the match going into overtime (70-70).

Spanou put Panathinaikos ahead in the first minutes of overtime (72-73), with Jensen answering from the perimeter and putting Proteas ahead (75-73). The greens missed crucial shots, with Proteas remaining ahead and Brown sealing the victory for Despotakis' team, hitting two shots at the end.

Ο εντυπωσιακός Πρωτέας Βούλας νίκησε στην παράταση τον Παναθηναϊκό με 80-76 και προκρίθηκε στον τελικό του Allwyn Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας.

Ο Πρωτέας Βούλας εντυπωσίασε και έκανε την έκπληξη στην Καβάλα, επικρατώντας του Παναθηναϊκού στην παράταση με 80-76 (70-70 κ.δ) και προκρίθηκε στον τελικό του Allwyn Κυπέλλου Ελλάδας.

Η Μάλι Μόργκαν ήταν η πρωταγωνίστρια από τις νικήτριες, σημειώνοντας double-double εμφάνιση με 17 πόντους και 12 πόντους, με την Τζένσεν να την ακολουθεί με 16 πόντους.

Από τις πράσινες η Φιτζέραλντ ήταν εκείνη που ξεχώρισε με 19 πόντους, ενώ μάζεψε οκτώ ριμπάουντ και μοίρασε τέσσερις ασίστ. Στους 15 πόντους σταμάτησε στους 15 πόντους, με την Σπανού να την ακολουθεί με 14 πόντους, μαζεύοντας και 16 ριμπάουντ.

Ο αγώνας

Ο Πρωτέας Βούλας είχε τον πρώτο λόγο στο πρώτο δεκάλεπτο, κρατώντας το προβάδισμα σε όλη τη διάρκεια της περιόδου. Ωστόσο, στη δεύτερη περίοδο ο Παναθηναϊκός ανέβασε ρυθμούς στην επίθεση και επέστρεψε στο ματς, μειώνοντας στους έξι στα μέσα της περιόδου (20-26). Στη συνέχεια οι πράσινες κατάφεραν να πάρουν προβάδισμα για πρώτη φορά στο ματς, με την Τζένσεν να σκοράρει από την περιφέρεια για τον 28-29. Οι παίκτριες της Ερντέμ μπήκαν επέστρεψαν δυναμικά από τα αποδυτήρια, παίρνοντας προβάδισμα τεσσάρων πόντων (36-40). Από εκείνο το σημείο και μετά ο Πρωτέας Βούλας δυσκολεύονταν να βρει λύσεις στην επίθεση, με τις πράσινες να το εκμεταλλεύονται και να ξεφεύγουν με διψήφια διαφορά (39-49). Λίγα δευτερόλεπτα, ο Πρωτέας έβγαλε μία μικρή αντίδραση, μειώνοντας στους πέντε, μετά από δύο μεγάλα τρίποντα των Μάλι και Μπόικο (48-53).

Στο τέταρτο δεκάλεπτο ο Πρωτέας Βούλας είχε τον πρώτο λόγο, καταφέρνοντας να πάρει ξανά το προβάδισμα με τρεις πόντους πέντε λεπτά πριν το τέλος της αναμέτρησης (60-57). Το ματς ήταν θρίλερ μέχρι τα τελευταία δευτερόλεπτα, με τον Πρωτέα να κρατάει με νύχια και με δόντια το προβάδισμα (69-67). Η Μπράουν κέρδισε τρεις βολές, με την ίδια να χάνει την ευκαιρία να δώσει το προβάδισμα στον Παναθηναϊκό, χάνοντας τις δύο από τρεις βολές (69-68). Η Φιτζέραλντ ισοφάρισε για τον Παναθηναϊκό, με την Σακελλαρίου να αστοχεί σε τρίποντο-νίκης για τον Πρωτέα, με το ματς να οδηγείται σε παράταση (70-70).

Η Σπανού έβαλε τον Παναθηναϊκό μπροστά στα πρώτα λεπτά της παράτασης (72-73), με την Τζένσεν να δίνει απάντηση από την περιφέρεια και να βάζει μπροστά τον Πρωτέα (75-73).
