The Russian tennis player suffered a heartbreaking loss to Lerner Tin at the Australian Open, with the American advancing to the next round with 3-2 sets.
The 19-year-old shocked Medvedev after taking a 2-0 set lead [6-3, 7-6 (7)], saw the 28-year-old fight back [2-2 6-7(10) and (6-1)] and to send the game to a fifth set.
There Tin won in the super tie break with 10-7, took the coveted seventh game (7-6), to finally win with 3-2 sets.

Πάνω σε έναν εκπληκτικό Λέρνερ Τιν έπεσε ο Ντανίλ Μεντβέντεφ, με τον Ρώσο να γνωρίζει την ήττα με 3-2 σετ από τον 19χρονο Αμερικανό και να λέει "αντίο" από το Australian Open.
Με τον χειρότερο δυνατό τρόπο ξεκίνησε η σεζόν για το νούμερο 5 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης, καθώς ο Ντανίλ Μεντβέντεφ αποχαιρέτησε μόλις από τον 2ο γύρο το πρώτο Grand Slam του 2025.
