Champions League: Manchester City-Real Madrid clash in the play-offs

Manchester City and Real Madrid will face each other for the fourth consecutive season in the knockout stages of the Champions League, as the Citizens were drawn with the Merengues in the play-offs. Atalanta is played by Jolis' Bruges, Monaco by Pavlidis' Benfica.

Another episode in the "clash of titans" between them of recent years is expected to be played by Manchester City and Real Madrid, who will face each other in the play-offs of the Champions League!

For the fourth consecutive year and the fifth time in the last six seasons, the Citizens find the Queen on their way, with the first leg taking place at the "Etihad" and the return match at the "Santiago Bernabeu" as the Madrid team entered the draw as a strong team.

In their previous four meetings in the last five years, City and Real Madrid have each managed two qualifiers, with a common denominator in the last three cases: the team that advanced to the next phase went all the way to victory!

In 2022, Real Madrid, sending the match with an unimaginable twist to extra time, took the ticket to the final and ultimately the cup, in 2023 it was the turn of Pep Guardiola's team to smile again in the semi-finals, reaching their first European competition, while last season the two teams met in the quarter-finals and the Queen qualified on penalties, with Ravondes ultimately becoming the 15th star in its history.

In the remaining pairs, the draw reserved only a "civil war" with Paris Saint-Germain facing Brest, while Christos Tzolis' Brugge and Vangelis Pavlidis' Benfica will face Atalanta and Monaco respectively.

The first matches will be held on February 11-12 and the return matches on February 18-19. Two days later (21/2) the draw for the "16" will be held, which will also shape the "map" of the knockouts up to the final.

Μάντσεστερ Σίτι και Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης θα αναμετρηθούν για τέταρτη διαδοχική σεζόν στα νοκ-άουτ του Champions League, καθώς οι Πολίτες κληρώθηκαν με τους Μερένγκες στα play-offs. Με Αταλάντα η Μπριζ του Τζόλη, με Μονακό η Μπενφίκα του Παυλίδη.

Ακόμα ένα επεισόδιο στις μεταξύ τους «τιτανομαχίες» των τελευταίων ετών αναμένεται να χαρίσουν Μάντσεστερ Σίτι και Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, οι οποίες θα κοντραριστούν στα play-offs του Champions League!

Για τέταρτη διαδοχική χρονιά και πέμπτη φορά τις τελευταίες έξι σεζόν, οι Πολίτες βρίσκουν στον δρόμο τους τη Βασίλισσα, με το πρώτο παιχνίδι να διεξάγεται στο «Etihad» και τη ρεβάνς στο «Σαντιάγο Μπερναμπέου» καθώς οι Μαδριλένοι μπήκαν στην κλήρωση ως ισχυροί.

Στις προηγούμενες τέσσερις συναντήσεις τους την τελευταία πενταετία, Σίτι και Ρεάλ μέτρησαν από δύο προκρίσεις η καθεμία, με έναν κοινό παρονομαστή στις τρεις τελευταίες περιπτώσεις: η ομάδα που πέρασε στην επόμενη φάση, έφτασε μέχρι και την κατάκτηση!

Το 2022 η Ρεάλ στέλνοντας το ματς με αδιανόητη ανατροπή στην παράταση πήρε το εισιτήριο για τον τελικό και εν τέλει και την κούπα, το 2023 ήταν η σειρά της ομάδας του Πεπ Γκουαρδιόλα να χαμογελάσει και πάλι στα ημιτελικά φτάνοντας στο πρώτο ευρωπαϊκό της, ενώ την περασμένη σεζόν οι δύο ομάδες συναντήθηκαν στα προημιτελικά και η Βασίλισσα πήρε την πρόκριση στα πέναλτι, ράβοντς εν τέλει το 15ο αστέρι της ιστορίας της.

Στα υπόλοιπα ζευγάρια, η κληρωτίδα επιφύλασσε μόνο έναν «εμφύλιο» με την Παρί Σεν Ζερμέν να αντιμετωπίζει την Μπρεστ, ενώ η Μπριζ του Χρήστου Τζόλη και η Μπενφίκα του Βαγγέλη Παυλίδη θα βρουν απέναντί τους την Αταλάντα και τη Μονακό αντίστοιχα.

Οι πρώτες αναμετρήσεις θα διεξαχθούν στις 11-12 Φεβρουαρίου και οι ρεβάνς στις 18-19 Φεβρουαρίου. Δύο μέρες αργότερα (21/2) θα διεξαχθεί η κλήρωση για τους «16» που θα διαμορφώσει και τον «χάρτη» των νοκ-άουτ μέχρι και τον τελικό.
