The Los Angeles Galaxy lost Ricky Pudge to a serious injury right before the MLS playoffs final.
We may be in the middle of the season in most competitions in Europe, but in the US things are very different, as next Saturday (07/12) the final of the MLS playoffs will take place.
The Los Angeles Galaxy will host the New York Red Bulls, with the Californians looking for their first title in a decade and the New Yorkers their first... ever.
And the Galaxies may have the favorite title - also because of home - but a few days before the big match, they suffered a strong blow.
Injury fears have been confirmed, you see, in the semi-final win over the Seattle Sounders as Ricky Pudge suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.
Which means that he will of course miss the grand final as well as the first half of the next season, which starts in February 2025.
The shocking thing about the case is that the Catalan took out the entire final of the western region with the Sounders while he was hitting, even giving the assist to Jovelic for the winning goal in the 85'!
Once a Barcelona wonderkid, the 25-year-old footballer has been playing in Los Angeles since the summer of 2022, scoring 29 goals and 20 assists in 82 appearances.
This year, Pudge had his most productive season yet, contributing 31 goals (17+14) and four goals-three assists in the playoffs.

Επιβεβαιώθηκαν, βλέπετε, οι φόβοι για τον τραυματισμό που αποκόμισε στον νικηφόρο ημιτελικό με τους Σιάτλ Σάουντερς, καθώς ο Ρίκι Πουτζ υπέστη ρήξη χιαστού στο αριστερό γόνατο.
Κάτι που σημαίνει πως θα χάσει φυσικά τον μεγάλο τελικό αλλά και το πρώτο μισό της επόμενης σεζόν, που ξεκινά τον Φεβρουάριο του 2025.
Το συγκλονιστικό της υπόθεσης είναι ότι ο Καταλανός έβγαλε όλον τον τελικό της δυτικής περιφέρειας με τους Σάουντερς ενώ είχε χτυπήσει, δίνοντας μάλιστα την ασίστ στον Γιόβελιτς για το νικητήριο γκολ στο 85'!
