Benzema's Al Ittihad game in Iran canceled due to statues
Al Ittihad's AFC Champions League game with Sepahan in Iran has been called off due to statues of Qasem Soleimani, which the home team have labeled as propaganda.
The match between Sepahan and Al Ittihad for the AFC Champions League never took place. Despite the fact that there were 60,000 spectators in the stands of the Nags e Jahan Stadium, the two teams never took the field.
The reason is that three statues of Qassem Soleimani, the former leader of Quds, an organization designated as a terrorist group in a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, were placed next to the pitch.
After the game between Sepahan and Al Ittihad was canceled due to a statue of Qassem Soleimani being present, the Saudi FA has ordered both Al Hilal and Al Ittihad to leave Iran and return to Saudi Arabia.

According to the Middle East media, the statues were noticed by Al Ittihad people and presented to the AFC.

As stated in the AFC regulations, political messages are prohibited. The people of Sepahan refused to turn them away and after an hour and a half the Al Ittihad mission left to return to Saudi Arabia.

Όπως αναφέρουν οι κανονισμοί της AFC απαγορεύονται τα πολιτικά μηνύματα. Οι άνθρωποι της Σεπαχάν αρνήθηκαν να τα απομακρύνουν και έπειτα από μιάμιση ώρα η αποστολή της Αλ Ιτιχάντ αποχώρησε για να επιστρέψει στη Σαουδική Αραβία.
