According to Football 234 TV on Twitter, during the match, the South Korea international took a bottle of water from Palace's medical staff, with one of the doctors laughing as he looked on, then offered the referee a sip.

After the match the 31-year-old told Sky Sport: "We just want to stay grounded, stay humble because it's early in the season so we just want to go game by game and try to get three points in every game and then we'll let's see what happens at the end of the season. We will work hard and let's see what happens."

Μετά το τέλος της αναμέτρησης ο 31χρονος μίλησε στο Sky Sport: «Θέλουμε απλώς να μείνουμε στο έδαφος, να παραμείνουμε ταπεινοί γιατί είναι νωρίς στη σεζόν, οπότε θέλουμε απλώς να κοιτάμε παιχνίδι με παιχνίδι και να προσπαθούμε να παίρνουμε τρεις βαθμούς σε κάθε αγώνα και μετά θα δούμε τι θα γίνει στο τέλος της σεζόν. Θα δουλέψουμε σκληρά και ας δούμε τι θα συμβεί».
