Panathinaikos: Ponitka is in "green"!

KAE Panathinaikos has officially announced the acquisition of Mateus Ponitkas for next year.

Mateus Ponitka is also a Panathinaikos player. The 29-year-old Pole was announced by the "greens" and signed a contract for the next one year with the Athenian team.

Mateusz Ponitka was born on August 29, 1993 in Ostrów, Poland, he is 1.98m tall. and competes in positions "2" and "3". He took his first steps in basketball from UKS Kasprowiczanka Ostrow Wielkopolski before moving to AZS Warsaw University of Technology in 2009. In March 2012 he signed for Asseco Prokom and in the summer of 2013 he "moved" to the Belgian Telenet Oostende, winning the championship with them.

In August 2015 he returned to Poland on behalf of Zielona Gora and was named EuroCup Rising Star of the 2015-2016 season. In the summer of 2016 he "moved" to Turkey and Pınar Karşıyaka, while the 2017-18 season found him in the Spanish CB Canarias Tenerife.

After his stint in the Spanish team he was transferred to the Russian Lokomotiv Kuban. After one season there he moved to BC Zenit Saint Petersburg where he remained until 2022. In the summer of 2022 he signed for the Italian Reggio Emilia, from which he left to join Panathinaikos.

In total, he has played five seasons in the Euroleague, three with BC Zenit Saint Petersburg, one with Zielona Gora and one with Asseco Prokom, averaging 8.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

In the Eurocup he played for four seasons, with Telenet Oostende, Zielona Gora and Lokomotiv Kuban averaging 9.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

At EuroBasket 2022, Ponitka led the Polish National Team to a fourth-place finish, averaging 13.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.

Η ΚΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός ανακοίνωσε και επίσημα του απόκτηση του Ματέους Πονίτκα για τον επόμενο χρόνο.

Παίκτης του Παναθηναϊκού είναι και με τη βούλα ο Ματέους Πονίτκα. Ο 29χρονος Πολωνός ανακοινώθηκε από τους “πράσινους” και υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο για τον επόμενο ένα χρόνο με την αθηναϊκή ομάδα.

Η ΚΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός ανακοινώνει την απόκτηση του Ματέους Πονίτκα για ένα χρόνο.

Ο Ματέους Πονίτκα γεννήθηκε στις 29 Αυγούστου 1993 στο Ostrów της Πολωνίας, έχει ύψος 1.98μ. και αγωνίζεται στις θέσεις «2» και «3». Έκανε τα πρώτα του βήματα στο μπάσκετ από την UKS Kasprowiczanka Ostrow Wielkopolski πριν μετακομίσει στην AZS Warsaw University of Technology το 2009. Τον Μάρτιο του 2012 υπέγραψε στην Asseco Prokom και το καλοκαίρι του 2013 «μετακόμισε» στη βελγική Telenet Oostende κατακτώντας μαζί της το πρωτάθλημα.

Τον Αύγουστο του 2015 επέστρεψε στην Πολωνία για λογαριασμό της Zielona Gora και ονομάστηκε EuroCup Rising Star της σεζόν 2015-2016. Το καλοκαίρι του 2016 «μετακόμισε» στην Τουρκία και την Pınar Karşıyaka, ενώ η σεζόν 2017-18 season τον βρήκε στην ισπανική CB Canarias Tenerife.

Μετά από τη θητεία του στην ισπανική ομάδα πήρε μεταγραφή για τη ρωσική Lokomotiv Kuban. Έπειτα από μία σεζόν εκεί μετακινήθηκε στην BC Zenit Saint Petersburg όπου και παρέμεινε μέχρι το 2022. Το καλοκαίρι του 2022 υπέγραψε στην ιταλική Reggio Emilia, από την οποία αποχώρησε για να έρθει στον Παναθηναϊκό.

Συνολικά έχει αγωνιστεί πέντε σεζόν στην Euroleague, τρεις με την BC Zenit Saint Petersburg, μία με τη Zielona Gora και μία με την Asseco Prokom μετρώντας συνολικά 8.2 πόντους, 5.2 ριμπάουντ και 2.4 ασίστ ανά παιχνίδι.

Στο Eurocup έπαιξε για τέσσερις σεζόν, με την Telenet Oostende, τη Zielona Gora και τη Lokomotiv Kuban έχοντας 9.7 πόντους, 4.4 ριμπάουντ και 1.2 ασίστ κατά μέσο όρο.

Στο Ευρωμπάσκετ του 2022 ο Πονίτκα οδήγησε την Εθνική Πολωνίας στην κατάκτηση της τέταρτης θέσης έχοντας 13.4 πόντους, 5.3 ριμπάουντ και 5.7 ασίστ κατά μέσο όρο ανά αγώνα.
