Monaco: Announce George Papagiannis!
With all formality now, Giorgos Papagiannis is a Monaco player.
It had been known for days. He had admitted it himself in his statements and the time for the official announcement has arrived. Monaco have signed Giorgos Papagiannis for the upcoming 2024-25 season! A few hours before his official release from Fenerbahce.
Now, the 27-year-old Greek center (2.20m) will become a resident of Monte Carlo where he will compete alongside Mike James and Nick Calathes, who seems to have played a key role in his departure from the Istanbul club.
In the completed season, at the Euroleague level, Papagiannis averaged 5.7 points with 3.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 15:58 minutes on the floor. In the past, he has been with Panathinaikos, with whom he won 3 Greek championships, while he has also been a player for the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Με κάθε επισημότητα πλέον, ο Γιώργος Παπαγιάννης είναι παίκτης της Μονακό.
Είχε γίνει γνωστό εδώ και μέρες. Το είχε παραδεχτεί και ο ίδιος σε δηλώσεις του και η ώρα της επίσημης ανακοίνωσης έφτασε. Η Μονακό απέκτησε τον Γιώργο Παπαγιάννη για την επερχόμενη σεζόν του 2024-25! Λίγες ώρες πριν είχε προηγηθεί η επίσημη αποδέσμευσή του από τη Φενέρμπαχτσε.
Πλέον, ο 27χρονος Έλληνας σέντερ (2,20 μ.) θα γίνει κάτοικος Μόντε Κάρλο όπου θα αγωνίζεται μαζί με τον Μάικ Τζέιμς αλλά και τον Νικ Καλάθη, ο οποίος φαίνεται ότι έπαιξε καθοριστικό ρόλο ώστε να φύγει από την ομάδα της Κωνσταντινούπολης.
Τη σεζόν που ολοκληρώθηκε, στο επίπεδο της Euroleague ο Παπαγιάννης μετρούσε κατά μέσο όρο από 5,7 πόντους με 3,1 ριμπάουντ και 0,8 ασίστ σε 15:58 λεπτά εντός παρκέ. Στο παρελθόν έχει περάσει από τον Παναθηναϊκό με τον οποίο πήρε 3 πρωταθλήματα Ελλάδος ενώ έχει υπάρξει επίσης παίκτης των Σακραμέντο Κινγκς και των Πόρτλαντ Τρέιλ Μπλέιζερς.
