Rybakina is unstoppable

Elena Rybakina lost the first set to Qingwen Zheng, but found a way to turn the match around and book a place in the quarterfinals of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open!

The Australian Open winner (No.3) showed no mercy, defeating the 23-year-old Chinese (No.26) 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 in almost 2.5 hours and reaching her ninth consecutive victory on the tour.

The 26-year-old Kazakh came back after losing the first set, easily taking the second and finding herself ahead 5-2 in the third. She lost a match point on Zheng's serve immediately after and then failed to close out the match, but she scored another break at 6-5 and avoided trouble!

She took another step towards her second consecutive title, while also booking a very interesting date with Victoria Empoko in the quarterfinals.

Έχασε το πρώτο σετ από την Τσινγουέν Ζενγκ η Έλενα Ριμπάκινα, αλλά βρήκε τρόπο να γυρίσει το ματς και να κλείσει θέση στα προημιτελικά του Qatar TotalEnergies Open!

Χωρίς φρένα η νικήτρια του Australian Open (No.3), λύγισε την 23χρονη Κινέζα (Νο.26) με 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 σε σχεδόν 2.5 ώρες και έφτασε τις εννιά συνεχόμενες νίκες στο tour.

H 26χρονη Καζάκα επέστρεψε μετά την απώλεια του πρώτου σετ, πήρε με άνεση το δεύτερο και βρέθηκε μπροστά στο σκορ με 5-2 στο τρίτο. Έχασε ματς πόιντ στο σερβίς της Ζενγκ αμέσως μετά και στη συνέχεια απέτυχε να κλείσει τον αγώνα, όμως σημείωσε ένα ακόμα μπρέικ στο 6-5 και απέφυγε τα μπλεξίματα!

Έκανε, λοιπόν, ένα ακόμα βήμα προς τον δεύτερο σερί τίτλο της, κλείνοντας παράλληλα πολύ ενδιαφέρον ραντεβού με την Βικτόρια Εμπόκο στα προημιτελικά.
