Le Mans 24 Hours: Zidane to start on June 15
Zinedine Zidane will start the 24 Hours of Le Mans rally on June 15 at 4:00 p.m. (local time/ 5:00 p.m. Greek time), they announced today (28/5). the organizers of the legendary car race.
"Regarded as one of the greatest French athletes and one of the best players in the history of football, Zinedine Zidane will be the one to start the 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans," reported the Automobile Club de l West ( ACO ).
The ACO recalls that before "Zizou", the tricolor flag of the launch...they lowered many personalities as guest stars, mentioning Brad Pitt (2016), Rafael Nadal (2018), Alain Delon (1996), Georges Pompidou (1972 ), Steve McQueen (1971) or last year LeBron James.
"The 24 Hours of Le Mans rally is unique for everyone who loves motorsport, for the whole world, it's a legendary race," Zidane said. It will be a "great first time to be there" continued the 1998 world champion, saying he has "a lot of images in his memory, from the race, legendary drivers, incredible stories, but in front of his television, whether through the cinema. »

This is not the former footballer's first appearance in motorsport: from February 2023 he is the "ambassador" of Alpine, a French team present in F1.
In front of him will start 62 cars, including 23 from the top class of Hypercars, from nine different brands: Ferrari, Toyota, Cadillac, Peugeot, Porsche, Alpine, Lamborghini, BMW and Isotta Fraschini.

Ο Ζινεντίν Ζιντάν θα δώσει την εκκίνηση στο ράλι 24 ωρών του Λε Μανς (24 Hours of Le Mans) στις 15 Ιουνίου στις 4:00 μ.μ.(τοπική ώρα/ 17:00 ώρα Ελλάδας), ανακοίνωσαν σήμερα (28/5) οι διοργανωτές του θρυλικού αγώνα αυτοκινήτων.
«Θεωρούμενος ως ένας από τους μεγαλύτερους Γάλλους αθλητές και ένας από τους καλύτερους παίκτες στην ιστορία του ποδοσφαίρου, ο Ζινεντίν Ζιντάν θα είναι εκείνος που θα δώσει την εκκίνηση της 92ης διοργάνωσης των 24 ωρών του Λε Μαν», ανέφερε η Automobile Club de l West (ACO ).
Η ACO υπενθυμίζει ότι πριν από τον «Ζιζού», την τρίχρωμη σημαία της εκκίνησης...χαμήλωσαν πολλές προσωπικότητες ως guest stars, αναφέροντας τους Μπραντ Πιτ (2016), Ράφαελ Ναδάλ (2018), Αλέν Ντελόν (1996), Τζώρτζ Πομπιντού (1972), Στηβ Μακ Κουίν (1971) ή πέρυσι ο ΛεΜπρόν Τζέιμς.
«Το ράλι 24 ωρών του Λε Μαν είναι μοναδικό για όλους όσους αγαπούν τον μηχανοκίνητο αθλητισμό, για ολόκληρο τον κόσμο, είναι ένας θρυλικός αγώνας», είπε ο Ζιντάν. Θα είναι μια «υπέροχη πρώτη φορά που θα είμαι εκεί» συνέχισε ο παγκόσμιος πρωταθλητής του 1998, λέγοντας ότι έχει «πολλές εικόνες στη μνήμη του, από τον αγώνα, θρυλικούς οδηγούς, απίστευτες ιστορίες, αλλά μπροστά στην τηλεόραση του, είτε μέσω του κινηματογράφου.»
«Δεν θα μπορούσαμε να ονειρευόμαστε έναν μεγαλύτερο αστέρα» για να ξεκινήσει αυτές οι «24 ώρες του Λε Μαν», χαιρέτησε ο Πιερ Φιλόν, πρόεδρος της ACO.
Αυτή δεν είναι η πρώτη εμφάνιση του πρώην ποδοσφαιριστή στον μηχανοκίνητο αθλητισμό: από τον Φεβρουάριο του 2023 είναι «πρεσβευτής» της Alpine, μιας γαλλικής ομάδας που είναι παρούσα στη F1.
Μπροστά του θα ξεκινήσουν 62 αυτοκίνητα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων 23 από την κορυφαία κατηγορία των Hypercars, από εννέα διαφορετικές μάρκες: Ferrari, Toyota, Cadillac, Peugeot, Porsche, Alpine, Lamborghini, BMW και Isotta Fraschini.
