Athens Kallithea announced the signing of Thierry Moutinho for the next season.

Thierry Moutinho will remain in Greece on behalf of Athens Kallithea.

The Southern Suburbs team announced the acquisition of the 32-year-old midfielder, who last season played in Levadeiakos and recorded 17 appearances with three goals and one assist.

Athens Kallithea FC announce the signing of Swiss-Portuguese midfielder Thierry Moutinho on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with relegated Super League 1 side Levadeiakos.

Moutinho, 32, has spent the majority of his career in Spain, making 98 total appearances with nine goals and 12 assists in the Segunda Division, while gaining experience in the top tiers of Switzerland, Romania and Greece.

He has won the Romanian SuperLiga championship twice with Cluj and the Romanian Cup once with FCSB. He has achieved promotion to the top division twice with Servette in Switzerland and Levadeiakos in Greece, as well as promotion to the second division with Albacete in Spain.

Born in Geneva, Moutinho started his career at local club Etoile Carouge FC and soon moved to Servette, the city's biggest club, making his first team debut at the age of 18. As a young player who usually came on as a substitute, Moutinho featured with Servette when the club won promotion to the Swiss Super League in 2010/11 and qualified for the UEFA Europa League in 2011/12. Moutinho made 40 total appearances for the club over four and a half seasons before leaving for Spain.

In January 2013, Moutinho signed for Albacete, where he made 13 appearances with one goal in the second half of the 2013/14 season to help the club return to the Segunda Division. He spent one more season at Albacete, and the next two seasons at Mallorca, with a short loan spell at Tenerife. Moutinho had an impressive season at Mallorca in 2016/17, scoring four goals and providing seven assists in 34 league games.

Although Mallorca were relegated to the third division, Moutinho's performances earned him a move to ambitious Romanian side Cluj, where he played as the club won the title in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. Moutinho signed for FCSB, Romania's biggest club, the following summer, and despite leaving mid-season to return to Spain, he was involved in the Bucharest side's run to the Cup in 2019/20.

After a season and a half in Spain with Cordoba, Moutinho landed in Greece and Levadiakos, developing into a key contributor to promotion to Super League 1, making 25 appearances with three goals and three assists in the 2021/22 season. Moutinho made 17 appearances with three goals and one assist in Greece's top flight last season, but Levadeiakos failed to avoid relegation.

As an international, Moutinho represented Switzerland with the minor national teams from U16 to U19, and then represented Portugal with the National U20.

Η ομάδα των Νοτίων Προαστίων ανακοίνωσε την απόκτηση του 32χρονου μέσου, ο οποίος την περσινή αγωνιστική περίοδο αγωνίστηκε στο Λεβαδειακό και κατέγραψε 17 συμμετοχές με τρία γκολ και μία ασίστ.

Η Athens Kallithea FC ανακοινώνει την απόκτηση του Ελβετοπορτογάλου μέσου Thierry Moutinho με ελεύθερη μεταγραφή μετά τη λήξη του συμβολαίου του με τον υποβιβασμένο από τη Super League 1 Λεβαδειακό.

O Moutinho κατέγραψε 17 συμμετοχές με τρία γκολ και μία ασίστ στην κορυφαία κατηγορία της Ελλάδας την περσινή σεζόν, αλλά ο Λεβαδειακός δεν κατάφερε να αποφύγει τον υποβιβασμό.

Ως διεθνής, ο Moutinho εκπροσώπησε την Ελβετία με τις μικρές εθνικές ομάδες από την Κ16 έως την Κ19, και στη συνέχεια εκπροσώπησε την Πορτογαλία με την Εθνική Κ20.
