Το σοβαρότατο πρόβλημα υγείας του Στέφαν Λάινερ ανακοίνωσε η Γκλάντμπαχ, καθώς θα τον κρατήσει για πολλούς μήνες εκτός δράσης. Ο 32χρονος μπακ διαγνώστηκε με καρκίνο στους λεμφαδένες.
Ο Αυστριακός άσος έμαθε ότι έχει καρκίνο από τις καθιερωμένες εξετάσεις στο πλαίσιο της προετοιμασίας, καθώς έτσι εντοπίστηκε το λέμφωμα!
Το θετικό είναι ότι ο ο καρκίνος εντοπίστηκε σε πρώιμο στάδιο και μπορεί να αντιμετωπιστεί πλήρως, με τους γιατρούς να δίνουν υψηλές πιθανότητες πως ο Λάινερ θα αποθεραπευτεί πλήρως και θα επιστρέψει κανονικά στις καθημερινές του δραστηριότητες, αλλά και στην αγωνιστική δράση.
«Θα κάνουμε τα πάντα για να διασφαλίσουμε ότι ο Στίβι θα λάβει την καλύτερη δυνατή θεραπεία και ευχόμαστε σε αυτόν και στην οικογένειά του πολλή δύναμη και αισιοδοξία στον αγώνα ενάντια σε αυτή την ασθένεια», δήλωσε ο αθλητικός διευθυντής της Γκλάντμπαχ Ρόλαντ Βίρκους.
