UEFA won in its legal dispute with the European Super League! The final result is expected at the end of January.
European Court of Justice and Greek Attorney General Athanasios Randos side with UEFA
At the trial, Athanasios Rados sided with the confederation, in a first sign of vindication against the renegades, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus who, together with nine other teams, founded the Super League in 2020 and insist on the establishment of competitions independent of UEFA.
The prosecutor and former head of the Council of State stated that "the rules of UEFA and FIFA, under which any new competition is subject to their prior approval, are compatible with the corresponding law of the European Union".
This decision vindicates UEFA, which... is celebrating on social media by welcoming the proposal of Athanasios Rados. Despite the fact that the relevant decision is not expected before the beginning of 2023, the conclusions of the attorney general are often followed by the competent judges.
This puts a brake, if not an end, on the secessionist efforts that the three clubs have been insisting on.

Το Ευρωπαϊκό Δικαστήριο και ο Έλληνας γενικός εισαγγελέας, Αθανάσιος Ράντος, τάσσονται υπέρ της UEFA
Στη δίκη ο Αθανάσιος Ράντος τάχθηκε υπέρ της συνομοσπονδίας, σε ένα πρώτο σημάδι δικαίωσης απέναντι στις αποστάτριες, Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, Μπαρτσελόνα, Γιουβέντους που από κοινού με εννέα ακόμα ομάδες ίδρυσαν το 2020 τη Super League και επιμένουν στη σύσταση ανεξάρτητων από την UEFA διοργανώσεων.
Ο εισαγγελέας και πρώην επικεφαλής του Συμβουλίου της Επικρατείας ανέφερε πως «οι κανόνες των UEFA και FIFA υπό τους οποίους οποιαδήποτε νέα διοργάνωση υπόκειται σε εκ των προτέρων έγκρισή τους, είναι συμβατοί με τον αντίστοιχο νόμο της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης».
Αυτή η απόφαση δικαιώνει την UEFA, που... πανηγυρίζει στα social media χαιρετίζοντας την πρόταση του Αθανάσιου Ράντου. Παρά το γεγονός ότι η σχετική απόφαση, δεν αναμένεται πριν από τις αρχές του 2023, τα συμπεράσματα του γενικού εισαγγελέα ακολουθούνται συχνά από τους αρμόδιους δικαστές.
Κατόπιν αυτού μπαίνει φρένο, αν όχι τέλος, στις προσπάθειες... απόσχισης στις οποίες επέμεναν οι τρεις σύλλογοι.
