Nevertheless, he failed and in the next phase, Rudy Garcia's team made the final 3-1.

Ο Άγγλος επιθετικός και κορυφαίος ποδοσφαιριστής των «πολιτών» την τρέχουσα αγωνιστική περίοδο απώλεσε τεράστια ευκαιρία με κενή εστία όταν το σκορ ήταν στο 2-1 υπέρ των Γάλλων κι αν ισοφάριζε εκεί όλα θα μπορούσαν να έχουν πάρει διαφορετική τροπή για τη Σίτι στον προημιτελικό.
Παρ' όλα αυτά αστόχησε και στην αμέσως επόμενη φάση το σύνολο του Ρούντι Γκαρσία διαμόρφωσε το τελικό 3-1.
