Η Ελλάδα «αγκάλιασε» την πρόκριση στο Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο της Κίνας νικώντας την Σερβία στην Κρήτη σε ματς - θρίλερ (70-63)! Σπουδαία εμφάνιση του Μπουρούση, διψήφιοι οι Καλάθης, Σλούκας, Πρίντεζης.

Μεγάλη νίκη για τη «γαλανόλευκη» στα «Δύο Αοράκια». Με πρωταγωνιστές τους Νικ Καλάθη (15π., 5ρ., 5ασ.), Κώστα Σλούκα (11π., 5ρ., 4ασ.), Γιώργο Πρίντεζη (15π.) και Γιάννη Μπουρούση (9π., 10ρ., 8ασ.) η «επίσημη αγαπημένη» έφτασε σε ένα πολύ σημαντικό αποτέλεσμα, που την έστειλε με το... 1,5 πόδι στα τελικά του Παγκοσμίου Κυπέλλου. Στην ουσία, η Ελλάδα έχει πλέον 7-0 ρεκόρ και θέλει μόλις μία νίκη στα πέντε επόμενα παιχνίδια της για είναι και μαθηματικά στο μεγάλο ραντεβού του 2019! Την Κυριακή (16/9) στην Τιφλίδα απέναντι στη Γεωργία το επόμενο ματς της Εθνικής.

Από την άλλη, οι Σέρβοι μπήκαν δυνατά στο παιχνίδι, το οποίο είχε τεράστια βαθμολογική σημασία για τους ίδιους, αλλά έχασαν πολλές ευκαιρίες έξω από τα 6,75μ. (7/26 3π.) και είδαν τον Μπόγκνταν Μπογκντάνοβιτς να χαραμίζει σερί μεγάλα σουτ (3/7 2π., 3/12 3π.).  

Οι δύο ομάδες ήταν νευρικές στο ξεκίνημα της αναμέτρησης, με τους «πλάβι» να μην εκμεταλλεύονται τα μαζεμένα επιθετικά ριμπάουντ τους (9-8). Ο Νικ Καλάθης ξεκίνησε καλά το ματς (8π., 2ασ. στο 8'), με τον Γιώργο Πρίντεζη να παίρνει την σκυτάλη στο σκοράρισμα (6π. στο 10'). Στο δεκάλεπτο το σκορ ήταν 16-18, παρά τα 3/10 τρίποντα των φιλοξενούμενων. Να σημειώσουμε πως η Ελλάδα παρατάχθηκε σε όλη την πρώτη περίοδο με ένα γκαρντ στο παρκέ (Καλάθη ή Σλούκα).

Στο δεύτερο δεκάλεπτο ο Θανάσης Σκουρτόπουλος έριξε ταυτόχρονα το δίδυμο Καλάθη - Σλούκα, αλλά ο γκαρντ του Παναθηναϊκού πήγε στον πάγκο στο 13' έχοντας 3 φάουλ. Οι παίκτες του Σάσα Τζόρτζεβιτς παρέμειναν άστοχοι, σε γενικές γραμμές, άλλα κάνοντας... θραύση στα επιθετικά ριμπάουντ (9 στο 15') είχαν μικρά προβαδίσματα (21-24). Όμως, η Ελλάδα έκανε το... ξέσπασμά της στο φινάλε του ημιχρόνου με διαδοχικά τρίποντα από τον Κώστα Σλούκα (8π.) και τον Ιωάννη Παπαπέτρου (6π.), που διαμόρφωσαν το 35-32 του 20'. Πρώτος σκόρερ των Σέρβων ήταν ο Μπόγκνταν Μπογκντάνοβιτς (12π. με 5/13 σουτ), ενώ πολύ καλός ήταν και ο Νίκολα Μιλουτίνοφ με 7 πόντους και 4 επιθετικά ριμπάουντ.

Ο Θανάσης Αντετοκούνμπο δεν είχε αγωνιστεί στο πρώτο μέρος, όμως χρησιμοποιήθηκε στην επανάληψη, έβγαλε ενέργεια, έπαιξε καλές άμυνες και μαζί με τον ανεβασμένο Μπουρούση έστειλαν την Ελλάδα στο +10 (42-32), βάζοντας προβλήματα στον Τζόρτζεβιτς, που ανακάτεψε την τράπουλα. Μάλιστα, το αντιπροσωπευτικό μας συγκρότημα συνέχισε να έχει το «πάνω χέρι» μέχρι το 25' (45-34), έχοντας 9/16 τρίποντα. Ωστόσο, το «γαλανόλευκο» ροτέισιον δεν βγήκε στο τεχνικό επιτελείο, με τους Σέρβους να κάνουν τη δική τους αντεπίθεση και να... ροκανίζουν ξανά τη διαφορά (51-47 στο 30').

Στα πρώτα λεπτά του τελευταίου δεκαλέπτου η τριπλέτα Καλάθη - Σλούκα - Πρίντεζη οδηγούσε την Ελλάδα (61-57 στο 35'), αλλά οι Σέρβοι έδειχναν πως δεν έχουν διάθεση να... παραδοθούν. Έτσι, το ντέρμπι καλά κρατούσε, με την «επίσημη αγαπημένη» να έχει μερικά παράπονα από τη διαιτησία. Λύσεις, όμως, έδινε και ο Μπουρούσης, παρά τα 4 φάουλ του (63-57 στο 36'). Έτσι, η «γαλανόλευκη» συνέχισε να έχει τον έλεγχο, την ώρα που οι φιλοξενούμενοι σπαταλούσαν «μεγάλα» σουτ, με το τελικό 70-63 να στέλνει την Ελλάδα... αγκαλιά με την πρόκριση στο Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο.

Τα Δεκάλεπτα: 16-18, 35-32, 51-47, 70-63

Ο MVP: Ο Γιάννης Μπουρούσης. Σπουδαία εμφάνιση του αρχηγού της Εθνικής, που γέμισε την στατιστική του με 9 πόντους, 10 ριμπάουντ και 8 ασίστ. Στο φινάλε ο «Μπουρού» αγωνίστηκε σχεδόν για μία περίοδο με 4 φάουλ και αποθέωθηκε από το κοινό της Κρήτης.

Ο Σκληρός: Ο Νικ Καλάθης (15π., 5ρ., 5ασ.), ο Γιώργος Πρίντεζης (15π., 4ρ.) και ο Κώστας Σλούκας (11π., 5ρ., 4ασ.) ήταν οι... σκληροί της Ελλάδας, που την οδήγησαν στην νίκη.

Ο Πεσμένος: Ο Μπόγκνταν Μπογκντάνοβιτς. Ο σούπερ σταρ των Σακραμέντο Κινγκς έβαλε 19 πόντους, αλλά ήταν μακριά από τον καλό του εαυτό έχοντας 6/19 σουτ και 3 λάθη. Παράλληλα, ο Νεμάνια Μπιέλιτσα κατέβασε μεν 12 ριμπάουντ, αλλά στην επίθεση μέτρησε 4/11 προσπάθειες. Οι Σέρβοι θα περίμεναν καλύτερα ποσοστά από τους δυο τους, κυρίως όταν η μπάλα... έκαιγε.

Ο Αόρατος: Ο Μίροσλαβ Ραντούλιτσα. Ο άλλοτε σέντερ του Παναθηναϊκού δεν βρήκε ρυθμό, με εξαίρεση δύο φάσεις και έμεινε στα... ρηχά.

Η Στιγμή: Τα καλάθια του Μπουρούση όταν οι Σέρβοι είχαν πλησιάσει στο τέταρτο δεκάλεπτο. Ο έμπειρος σέντερ έδωσε «ανάσες», σκορ και ηρεμία στην Εθνική Ομάδα.

Η Γκέλα: Τα πολλά χαμένα τρίποντα των Σέρβων, που δεν τους επέτρεψαν να επιστρέψουν στο παιχνίδι στο φινάλε.


Η Εξέδρα: Εκπληκτική ατμόσφαιρα στα «Δύο Αοράκια». Το κοινό γέμισε το κλειστό του Ηρακλείου και... έσπρωξε την Εθνική στην νίκη - μισή πρόκριση.
