Ο πρώην επιθετικός του Ολυμπιακού, Άλφρεντ Φινμπόγκασον, ισοφάρισε (1-1) για την Ισλανδία στην αναμέτρηση με την Αργεντινή για την πρεμιέρα των δύο ομάδων στο Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο. Μάλιστα, αυτό ήταν και το πρώτο γκολ για την εθνική ομάδα της νησιωτικής χώρας σε Μουντιάλ.
Όπως ήταν φυσιολογικό το συγκεκριμένο τέρμα πανηγυρίστηκε από τους συμπατριώτες του "Φίνμπο" σε όλο τον κόσμο.
Φυσικά, δεν θα μπορούσε να μη συμβεί το ίδιο και στην Ισλανδία. Εκεί όπου οι Ισλανδοί παρακολούθησαν την αναμέτρηση υπό βροχή!
