Ο Αρσέν Βενγκέρ εξέφρασε την άποψή του πως οι κανόνες του Financial Fair Play στην Premier League πρέπει να αλλάξουν, αφού πλέον οι συνθήκες στο παγκόσμιο ποδόσφαιρο είναι διαφορετικές.

Την πεποίθησή του πως οι κανόνες του Financial Fair Play στην Premier League πρέπει να αλλάξουν και να απλοποιηθούν, αφού δεν ανταποκρίνονται στις ανάγκες του σύγχρονου ποδοσφαίρου εξέφρασε ο Αρσέν Βενγκέρ.

Ο Αλσάτος τεχνικός ανέφερε μάλιστα το παράδειγμα της Μάντσεστερ Σίτι, η οποία κατηγορείται για 115 παραβάσεις του FFP, ώστε να ενισχύσει το επιχείρημά του.

Αναλυτικά οι δηλώσεις του άλλοτε τεχνικού της Άρσεναλ:

"Θεωρώ ότι οι κανόνες του Financial Fair Play σήμερα πρέπει να αλλάξουν στην Premier League επειδή οι ομάδες αντιμετωπίζουν τώρα τον ανταγωνισμό από άλλα πρωταθλήματα, τα οποία έχουν αλλάξει τους κανόνες του Financial Fair Play. Αυτή τη στιγμή, δεν γίνεται ένας σύλλογος όπως η Μάντσεστερ Σίτι να κατηγορείται με 115 διαφορετικές παραβάσεις. Δεν το πιστεύω αυτό".

Η Premier League έχασε ήδη μια υπόθεση, την πρώτη υπόθεση εναντίον της. Δεν τους γνωρίζω (τη Σίτι), δεν μπορώ να τους κρίνω. Απλώς πιστεύω ότι 115 διαφορετικές κατηγορίες εναντίον ενός ποδοσφαιρικού συλλόγου σήμερα μοιάζουν σαν να βρισκόμαστε υπό διεθνή επιτήρηση.

'Οι κανόνες του Financial Fair Play πρέπει να αλλάξουν και να γίνουν πιο απλοί. Ήρθαν (οι ιδιοκτήτες της Σίτι) και δεν είχαν αντιμετωπίσει κανένα Financial Fair Play όπως ούτε και η Τσέλσι. Η Τσέλσι, αγόρασε τους παίκτες μου (από την Άρσεναλ) και όχι μόνο επειδή δεν υπήρχαν κανόνες Financial Fair Play τότε".
