Sakkari - Bandosa 0-2: Elimination with... good morning in Charleston

Maria Sakkari bids farewell to the 500-ranked tournament in Charleston, USA, very quickly, as she was defeated by Paula Bandosa with 2-0 sets in a 2nd round game.

Maria Sakkari was unable to combine her WTA 500 debut in Charleston, South Carolina, with qualification, with Paula Bandosa, more consistent in her performance, reaching the victorious 6-3, 6-4 and qualifying for the "16" phase, where she will meet Anna Kalinskaya,

Against a player who is trying to come back, after continuous injury problems and has fallen to No. 113, Maria Sakkari was not good.

Although she had 2/2 in break points, this did not help her much, after the good start, she started making many effortless mistakes, complaining about herself and in the end she paid for it with the disqualification.

Good start, bad continuation and 0-1

Maria Sakkari from 15-40 in her first service game, found the solutions, avoiding the break, for 1-1. In fact, on her first opportunity, the Greek player achieved the break, going ahead with 2-1. However, Sakkari made mistakes in the 4th game and from her own advantage, she found herself faced with a break point, with Bandosa achieving it (2-2).

The Spaniard took the lead again with 3-2, maintained it (4-3), said "thank you" to Sakkari's mistakes in the 8th game, escaped with a break point with 5-3 and on the first set point she created, won the set with 6-3.

The mistakes brought irritation and elimination

Sakkari, after saving a break point, led 1-0 in the 2nd set, but the mistakes continued and cost her in the 3rd game, with Bandosa achieving a break with a love game, overtaking 2-1 and Sakkari starting to fight with herself.

With a love game, Bandosa led 3-1, Sakkari, from the danger of 0-30, maintained her serve (3-2) and with the 2nd break in the game, tied at 3-3.

But again the accumulated effortless errors returned in the 7th game, and even if Bandosa had to reach her 4th chance, she reached the break, for her own new lead with 4-3.

The Spaniard with a love game, made it 5-3, Sakkari maintained her last chance (5-4), but Bandosa reached 40-0 and on her 3rd chance, took the set 6-4 and the qualification.

Η Μαρία Σάκκαρη αποχαιρετά πολύ γρήγορα το 500άρι τουρνουά στο Τσάρλεστον των ΗΠΑ, καθώς ηττήθηκε από την Πάουλα Μπαντόσα με 2-0 σετ σε παιχνίδι του 2ου γύρου.

Η Μαρία Σάκκαρη δεν μπόρεσε να συνδυάσει με πρόκριση την πρεμιέρα της στο WTA 500 του Τσάρλεστον, στη Nότια Καρολίνα, με την Πάουλα Μπαντόσα, πιο σταθερή στην απόδοσή της, να φθάνει στο νικηφόρο 6-3, 6-4 και στην πρόκριση στη φάση των «16», όπου θα συναντήσει την Άννα Καλινσκάγια,

Απέναντι σε μια παίκτρια που προσπαθεί να επανέλθει, μετά τα συνεχόμενα προβλήματα τραυματισμών κι έχει κατρακυλήσει στο Νο.113, η Μαρία Σάκκαρη δεν ήταν καλή.

Αν και είχε 2/2 στα break points, αυτό ελάχιστα τη βοήθησε, μετά το καλό ξεκίνημα, άρχισε τα πολλά αβίαστα λάθη, την γκρίνια με τον εαυτό της και στο τέλος το πλήρωσε με τον αποκλεισμό.

Καλή αρχή, κακή συνέχεια και 0-1

Η Μαρία Σάκκαρη από το 15-40 στο πρώτο της service game, βρήκε τις λύσεις, αποφεύγοντας το break, για το 1-1. Μάλιστα στην πρώτη δική της ευκαιρία η Ελληνίδα παίκτρια πέτυχε το break, προσπερνώντας με 2-1. Όμως η Σάκκαρη υπέπεσε σε λάθη στο 4ο game κι από το δικό της αβαντάζ, βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπη με break point, με την Μπαντόσα να το πετυχαίνει (2-2).

H Ισπανίδα πήρε ξανά το προβάδισμα με 3-2, το διατήρησε (4-3), είπε «ευχαριστώ» στα λάθη της Σάκκαρη στο 8ο game, με break point ξέφυγε με 5-3 και στο πρώτο set point που δημιούργησε, κατέκτησε το σετ με 6-3.

Τα λάθη έφεραν εκνευρισμό κι αποκλεισμό

H Σάκκαρη αφού έσβησε break point, προηγήθηκε 1-0 στο 2ο σετ, όμως τα λάθη συνεχίστηκαν και στοίχισαν στo 3o game, με την Μπαντόσα να πετυχαίνει break με love game, να προσπερνά 2-1 και τη Σάκκαρη να αρχίζει να τα βάζει με τον εαυτό της.

Mε love game η Μπαντόσα προηγήθηκε 3-1, η Σάκκαρη από τον κίνδυνο του 0-30, διατήρησε το σερβίς της (3-2) και με το 2ο break στο παιχνίδι, ισοφάρισε σε 3-3.

Πάλι όμως τα μαζεμένα αβίαστα λάθη επέστρεψαν στο 7o game, κι έστω αν η Μπαντόσα χρειάστηκε να φθάσει στην 4η ευκαιρία της, έφθασε στο break, για το δικό της νέο προβάδισμα με 4-3.

Η Ισπανίδα με love game, έκανε το 5-3, η Σάκκαρη διατήρησε την τελευταία της ευκαιρία (5-4), όμως η Μπαντόσα έφθασε στο 40-0 και στην 3η ευκαιρία της, πήρε το σετ με 6-4 και την πρόκριση.
