Η νίκη επί του Παναθηναϊκού στο Telekom Center Athens έδωσε ψυχολογία στον Ολυμπιακό, όμως οι απουσίες των Νιλικίνα – Μιλουτίνοβ έπαιξαν ρόλο το βράδυ της Τρίτης (6/1).

Οι Πειραιώτες ηττήθηκαν με 88-80 από την Φενέρμπαχτσε στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, στην πρώτη αγωνιστική του β’ γύρου της EuroLeague, αν και για 35-36 λεπτά ήταν και πάλι πολύ καλοί, συμπαγείς και αποφασιστικοί.

Πρώτος σκόρερ με 24 πόντους από 11 σουτ ο Σάσα Βεζένκοβ, στους 16 έκλεισε τον αγώνα ο Ντόντα Χολ (μάζεψε και 11 ριμπάουντ), στους 15 το έκλεισαν ο Τάιλερ Ντόρσεϊ (4/11 σουτ) και ο Εβάν Φουρνιέ (5/13 σουτ).

Ο αγώνας

Με Γουόκαπ, Ντόρσεϊ, Παπανικολάου, Βεζένκοβ, Χολ άνοιξε το ματς ο Ολυμπιακός, που είχε σημαντικό πρόβλημα στο μαρκάρισμα του Χόρτον-Τάκερ, αλλά πήρε πολλά από το δίδυμο Ντόρσεϊ – Χολ για το 10-13 στο έκτο λεπτό. Οι Πειραιώτες διατήρησαν, πάντως, τον έλεγχο με αυτό το δίδυμο να κυριαρχεί και έκλεισαν την περίοδο στο +4 (22-18).

Ο Φουρνιέ έκανε καταπληκτική δουλειά στις αρχές της δεύτερης (22-27), ο Χολ έφτασε τους εννέα πριν δώσει τη θέση του στον Αντετοκούνμπο, ο Λαρεντζάκης βοήθησε κι αυτός και στο φινάλε του πρώτου μέρους οι Πειραιώτες είχαν το πάνω χέρι. Η Φενέρμπαχτσε δεν σκόραρε από την περιφέρεια (0/13 τρίποντα), ο Χόρτον-Τάκερ ήταν ο μόνος έτοιμος για μάχη (13 πόντοι, 6/8 δίποντα, 1/1 βολή) και ο Μπαρτζώκας είχε κρατήσει χαμηλά τα λεπτά των Γουόκαπ, Ντόρσεϊ, Βεζένκοβ, Χολ.

Ντόρσεϊ, Βεζένκοβ και Χολ συνέχισαν να κάνουν σπουδαία δουλειά στις αρχές του β’ μέρους, όμως ο Ολυμπιακός δεν μπορούσε να ξεφύγει. Είχε σπουδαίες αντιδράσεις όταν η Φενέρμπαχτσε προσπάθησε να πάρει το μομέντουμ, με τον Βεζένκοβ κυρίως και με τον Φουρνιέ να τον ακολουθεί προς το τέλος της περιόδου. Με σκορ και με δημιουργία.
