Aris Betsson failed to take advantage of its home field and suffered a defeat by Cluj 88-98 in the 9th round of the EuroCup, in a game that was decided in the disastrous fourth quarter for the yellow-blacks.

Aris Betsson welcomed Cluj to Thessaloniki in the 9th round of the EuroCup, aiming to take the lead in the record and climb above the Romanians in the standings, however, the fourth quarter of the match had a completely different result than desired and they were defeated 88-98.

The yellow and black team, who had the lead and a steady presence in the first three quarters, and the good performances of Noah with 20 points and 5 rebounds, Long with 15 points, Kulboka with 12 and 3 rebounds and Anjujić in his European debut with 20 points and 3 assists, collapsed in the end, allowing Cluj to turn the match around and reach a big away victory.

With the two teams tied at 4-4 before the start of the 9th matchday, and while Aris Betsson started with energy, he built differences and seemed to be in control for most of the match.

However, Cluj did not give up the game and with a steady focus on its rhythm, and with Creek scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, as well as Russell with 16 points and 6 assists and Molinar with 18 points and 8 assists, they took the match into their “hands” in the fourth quarter.

This defeat leaves Aris at 4-5, missing the opportunity to look higher in the Group A standings, while now putting Cluj above it, making it difficult to continue in the competition.

Ο Άρης Betsson δεν κατάφερε να εκμεταλλευτεί την έδρα του και γνώρισε ήττα από την Κλουζ με 88-98 στη 9η αγωνιστική του EuroCup, σε ένα παιχνίδι που κρίθηκε στο καταστροφικό τέταρτο δεκάλεπτο για τους κιτρινόμαυρους.

Ο Άρης Betsson υποδέχτηκε την Κλουζ στη Θεσσαλονίκη στην 9η αγωνιστικλη του EuroCup, με στόχο να πάρει το προβάδισμα στο ρεκόρ και να ανέβει πάνω από τους Ρουμάνους στη βαθμολογία, ωστόσο το τέταρτο δεκάλεπτο της αναμέτρησης είχε τελείως διαφορετικό αποτέλεσμα από το επιθυμητό και ηττήθηκε με 88-98.

Οι κιτρινόμαυροι, που είχαν το προβάδισμα και σταθερή παρουσία στα τρία πρώτα δεκάλεπτα, και τις καλές εμφανίσεις των Νούα με 20 πόντους και 5 ριμπάουντ, Λονγκ με 15 πόντους, Κουλμπόκα με 12 και 3 ριμπάουντ και τον Αντζούιστιτς στο ευρωπαϊκό του ντεμπούτο με 20 πόντους και 3 ασίστ, κατέρρευσαν στο τέλος, επιτρέποντας στην Κλουζ να ανατρέψει το ματς και να φτάσει σε μια μεγάλη εκτός έδρας νίκη.

Με τις δύο ομάδες να βρίσκονται στο 4-4 πριν από την έναρξη της 9ης αγωνιστικής, και ενώ ο Άρης Betsson ξεκίνησε με ενέργεια, έχτισε διαφορές και έδειχνε να έχει τον έλεγχο στο μεγαλύτερο μέρος της αναμέτρησης.

Ωστόσο, η Κλουζ, δεν παράτησε το παιχνίδι και με σταθερή προσήλωση στον ρυθμό της, και με τον Κρικ να σκοράρει 27 πόντους, 6 ριμπάουντ και 3 ασίστ αλλά και τους Ράσελ με 16 πόντους και 6 ασίστ και τον Μόλιναρ με 18 πόντους και 8 ασίστ, πήραν στα “χέρια” τους το ματς στο τέταρτο δεκάλεπτο.

Η ήττα αυτή αφήνει τον Άρη στο 4-5, χάνοντας την ευκαιρία να κοιτάξει ψηλότερα στη βαθμολογία του Group A, ενώ πλέον βάζει την Κλουζ πάνω του, δυσκολεύοντας τη συνέχεια στη διοργάνωση.
