AEK - Panaitolikos 1-0

AEK was better than Panaitolikos, missed a lot of opportunities and had to reach 90+2' in order to win 1-0 thanks to a goal by Orbelin Pineda and reduce to -4 from the top and PAOK.

Before the kick-off, Stelios Manolas was honored, as he was the honored person in the boutique of the "OPAP Arena", while a video tribute to the emblematic veteran defender of the Union was also shown on the matrices. Panaitoliko's plan did not let AEK become more pressing, even when they lost Kontouris with an injury problem. Kaloskamis was "sacrificed" in the 65th minute to allow Jovic to enter and the system returned to 4-4-2. The home team won several consecutive corners, which were not taken, while in the 73rd minute Aleksic stopped Jovic's header before Chavez.

Five minutes later, the Serbian forward scored with a double effort after a cross from Rota, but with an on-field review by referee Papadopoulos it was canceled as an offensive foul on Mavrias. The decision brought an "explosion" on the Union bench, which received two red cards, while the stadium "boiled" with the Macedonian referee. In addition, Rota and Jovic received one card each, while the -substitute- Pelios was "yellow carded" for their complaints.

The scene did not change in the remaining minutes, with the delays being eight and the "redemption" coming in the second extra time! Pineda saw Rota's movement in the area, the Greek full-back turned the ball over to the Mexican midfielder who executed for the 1-0 winner, beating Chavez, but also Sielis who fell for the tackle.

For the second game in a row, AEK had its "engine god", like in Ilioupoli Kaloskamis, gaining psychology in view of Shamrock Rovers (6/11, 19:45) for the Conference League and the exit to Pankritio with OFI (9/11, 17:30) for the 10th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League. In turn, Panaitolikos was left "empty-handed", again, after Aguirre's missed penalty against Kifisia in Naples. Now, they will welcome AEL to Agrinio (8/11, 17:00) in a "must win" match for both sides!

Η ΑΕΚ ήταν καλύτερη από τον Παναιτωλικό, έχασε σωρεία ευκαιριών και χρειάστηκε να φτάσει στο 90+2' προκειμένου να πάρει τη νίκη 1-0 χάρη σε γκολ του Ορμπελίν Πινέδα και να μειώσει στο -4 από την κορυφή και τον ΠΑΟΚ.

Πριν από τη σέντρα, ο Στέλιος Μανωλάς αποθεώθηκε, καθώς ήταν το τιμώμενο πρόσωπο στην μπουτίκ της «OPAP Arena», ενώ στα μάτριξ προβλήθηκε, επίσης, ένα βίντεο-αφιέρωμα για τον εμβληματικό παλαίμαχο αμυντικό της Ένωσης. Επιπρόσθετα, οι Αγρινιώτες κέρδισαν τις εντυπώσεις, γεμίζοντας τη Θύρα 48 των φιλοξενούμενων με 400 φίλαθλους τους!

Η ΑΕΚ είχε την πρωτοβουλία των κινήσεων στο πρώτο μέρος και βάσει των ευκαιριών μπορούσε να βρει ένα τέρμα για να «ξεκλειδώσει» το ματς. Στο 9' ο Καλοσκάμης είχε την πρώτη τελική και ο Τσάβες την απόκρουση, ενώ στο 15' η κεφαλιά του Ρέλβας πέρασε άουτ ύστερα από εκτέλεση φάουλ του Μαρίν. Στο 26' η ομάδα του Γιάννη Αναστασίου είχε τη δική της καλή στιγμή με τον Μίχαλακ από πλάγια θέση, όμως ο Στρακόσα δήλωσε παρών. Στο 31' ο Ρότα πάτησε με αξιώσεις τα «καρέ» του Τσάβες, όμως το σουτ του κατέληξε... πλάγιο! Ο Καλοσκάμης απείλησε ξανά στο 39', η κεφαλιά του πέρασε πάνω από τα δοκάρια, ενώ στο 44' ο Ζοάο Μάριο απώλεσε την σπουδαιότερη στιγμή του αγώνα σε κενή εστία, έπειτα από γύρισμα του Ρότα και τον Τσάβες να κάνει «άστοχη» έξοδο! Ημίχρονο στο «μηδέν» και χλιαρές αποδοκιμασίες από τους «κιτρινόμαυρους» φιλάθλους.

Επιστρέφοντας από τα αποδυτήρια, η ομάδα του Μάρκο Νίκολιτς μπήκε ορμητικά και στο 48' ο Κοϊτά έδωσε στον Ζοάο Μάριο, ο οποίος από πλάγια θέση πλάσαρε, ο Κόγιτς έκανε το τάκλιν και η μπάλα κατέληξε στο οριζόντιο δοκάρι! Το πλάνο του Παναιτωλικού δεν άφησε την ΑΕΚ να γίνει πιο πιεστική, ακόμα και όταν έχασε τον Κοντούρη με πρόβλημα τραυματισμού. Ο Καλοσκάμης «θυσιάστηκε» στο 65' για να μπει ο Γιόβιτς και το σύστημα γύρισε σε 4-4-2. Οι γηπεδούχοι κέρδισαν αρκετά κόρνερ μαζεμένα, τα οποία δεν αξιοποιήθηκαν, ενώ στο 73' ο Άλεξιτς σταμάτησε την κεφαλιά του Γιόβιτς προ του Τσάβες.

Πέντε λεπτά αργότερα, ο Σέρβος φορ σκόραρε με διπλή προσπάθεια ύστερα από σέντρα του Ρότα, όμως με on field review του διαιτητή Παπαδόπουλου ακυρώθηκε ως επιθετικό φάουλ στον Μαυρία. Η απόφαση έφερε «έκρηξη» στον πάγκο της Ένωσης που δέχθηκε δυο κόκκινες κάρτες, ενώ και το γήπεδο «έβραζε» με τον Μακεδόνα διαιτητή. Επιπρόσθετα, οι Ρότα και Γιόβιτς δέχθηκαν από μία κάρτα, ενώ και ο -αναπληρωματικός- Πήλιος «κιτρινίστηκε» για τα παράπονά τους.

 Το σκηνικό δεν άλλαξε στα εναπομείναντα λεπτά, με τις καθυστερήσεις να είναι οκτώ και τη «λύτρωση» να έρχεται στο δεύτερο του έξτρα χρόνου! Ο Πινέδα είδε την κίνηση του Ρότα στην περιοχή, ο Έλληνας μπακ γύρισε την μπάλα στον Μεξικανό μέσο που εκτέλεσε για το νικητήριο 1-0, νικώντας τον Τσάβες, αλλά και τον Σιέλη που έπεσε για το τάκλιν.

Για δεύτερο παιχνίδι στη σειρά, η ΑΕΚ είχε τον «από μηχανής θεό» της, όπως στην Ηλιούπολη τον Καλοσκάμη, παίρνοντας ψυχολογία ενόψει Σάμροκ Ρόβερς (6/11, 19:45) για το Conference League και την έξοδο στο Παγκρήτιο με τον ΟΦΗ (9/11, 17:30) για την 10η αγωνιστική της Stoiximan Super League. Με τη σειρά του, ο Παναιτωλικός έμεινε με «άδεια χέρια», ξανά, μετά το χαμένο πέναλτι του Αγκίρε κόντρα στην Κηφισιά στη Νεάπολη. Τώρα, θα υποδεχθεί στο Αγρίνιο την ΑΕΛ (8/11, 17:00) σε μια «must win» αναμέτρηση εκατέρωθεν!
