F1 - Netherlands: Norris dominates FP3, McLaren on its own planet

McLaren Racing's Lando Norris was the fastest driver in the third and final session of Formula 1 free practice in Zandvoort before the battle for pole position.

The action at the Dutch Grand Prix continued with FP3. Teams and drivers had one hour to make their final preparations ahead of qualifying.

The weather was kind to all of us again and the rain stayed away from the track.

McLaren in front and behind the… chaos

The British team was in a dominant role on Saturday morning. Lando Norris set the fastest time again with a 1:08.972 and looks to be the big favorite for pole position later on. His time was two tenths of a second faster than his teammate, Oscar Piastri, who lost a lot of time on the second part of the track.

Behind the two McLaren cars we encounter "chaos". George Russell of Mercedes was in 3rd place, but his gap to the top was 0.8 seconds, which is worrying for the rest of the three-day race.

Carlos Sainz of Williams took 4th place, while Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing was 5th. Surely the difference of almost a second does not please the Dutchman. In 6th place was Charles Leclerc with Ferrari showing a very positive face, while Alex Albon brought the second Williams car into the top 10.

Lance Stroll followed with Aston Martin, Isaac Hajar with Racing Bulls and Fernando Alonso with Aston Martin.

O Λάντο Νόρις της McLaren Racing ήταν ο ταχύτερος οδηγός στην τρίτη και τελευταία περίοδο ελεύθερων δοκιμών της Formula 1 στο Ζάντβορτ πριν τη μάχη της pole position.

Η δράση στο Grand Prix Ολλανδίας συνεχίστηκε με το FP3. Ομάδες και οδηγοί είχαν μία ώρα ώστε να κάνουν τις τελικές τους προετοιμασίες ενόψει των κατατακτήριων δοκιμών.

Ο καιρός έκανε και πάλι το χατίρι σε όλους μας και η βροχή έμεινε μακριά από την πίστα.

Η McLaren μπροστά και πίσω το… χάος

Σε κυριαρχικό ρόλο η βρετανική ομάδα και το πρωί του Σαββάτου. Ο Λάντο Νόρις έκανε τον ταχύτερο χρόνο και πάλι με το 1:08,972 και δείχνει να είναι το μεγάλο φαβορί αργότερα για την pole position. O χρόνος του ήταν κατά δύο δέκατα του δευτερολέπτου ταχύτερος teammate του, Όσκαρ Πιάστρι, ο οποίος χάνει αρκετό χρόνο στο δεύτερο κομμάτι της πίστας.

Πίσω από τα δύο μονοθέσια της McLaren συναντάμε το «χάος». Ο Τζορτζ Ράσελ της Mercedes ήταν στην 3η θέση, όμως η διαφορά του από την κορυφή ήταν στα 0,8 δλ, κάτι το οποίο είναι ανησυχητικό για τη συνέχεια του τριημέρου.

Ο Κάρλος Σάινθ της Williams πήρε την 4η θέση, ενώ ο Μαξ Φερστάπεν της Red Bull Racing ήταν 5ος. Σίγουρα η διαφορά σχεδόν ενός δευτερολέπτου δεν χαροποιεί τον Ολλανδό. Στην 6η θέση ήταν ο Σαρλ Λεκλέρ με τη Ferrari να δείχνει ένα πολύ θετικό πρόσωπο, ενώ ο Άλεξ Άλμπον έφερε και το δεύτερο μονοθέσιο της Williams στη 10άδα.

Ακολούθησαν οι Λανς Στρολ με Aston Martin, Ίσακ Χατζάρ με Racing Bulls και Φερνάντο Αλόνσο με Aston Martin.
