The National Team was lukewarm against Cyprus, easily took the victory (96-69) for 2/2 in EuroBasket 2025 and goes to the battle with Georgia (31/8 at 15:00) with Giannis Antetokounmpo rested.

Vasilis Spanoulis spared Giannis Antetokounmpo who in a few hours will face Sandro Mamoukelashvili - Goga Bitadze and divided the playing time among the 11 players at his disposal. Greece did not impress in the first half, but of course they were not threatened.

Cyprus, on the other hand, won the applause with their fighting spirit. A team participating in the EuroBasket of Small Countries (formerly EuroBasket C’ Category), with the children of Christoforos Livadiotis living their dream, having greater motivation and enjoying the forty minutes more.

Philippos Tigas was the player who put the most pressure on the Greek defense, gritting his teeth to play after the injury in the match against Bosnia, however he hurt himself again in the third quarter and was left on the bench in the fourth.

Χλιαρή η Εθνική απέναντι στην Κύπρο, πήρε με άνεση την νίκη (96-69) για το 2/2 στο EuroBasket 2025 και πηγαίνει στη μάχη με τη Γεωργία (31/8 στις 15:00) με τον Γιάννη Αντετοκούνμπο ξεκούραστο.

Το συναπάντημα της Κύπρου με την Ελλάδα, στη δεύτερη αγωνιστική του Γ’ Ομίλου του EuroBasket 2025, ήταν ένα ιστορικό γεγονός για τις δύο χώρες και για τις δύο ομάδες. Γι’ αυτό και όλοι απόλαυσαν το απόγευμα του Σαββάτου, χωρίς να νοιάζονται για το τελικό σκορ στο Σπύρος Κυπριανού της Λεμεσού.

Η Εθνική, όπως αναμενόταν, πήρε την νίκη (96-69), έκανε το 2/2 και συνεχίζει με φόρα, καθώς το μεσημέρι της Κυριακής (31/8 στις 15:00) θα παλέψει με τη σαφώς ανώτερη, πιο σκληρή, ενίοτε και αντιαθλητική Γεωργία η οποία επικράτησε στην πρεμιέρα της Ισπανίας και ηττήθηκε χθες από την Ιταλία.

Ο Βασίλης Σπανούλης προφύλαξε τον Γιάννη Αντετοκούνμπο που σε λίγες ώρες θα αντιμετωπίσει τους Σάντρο Μαμουκελασβίλι – Γκόγκα Μπιτάτζε και μοίρασε τον χρόνο συμμετοχής στους 11 παίκτες που είχε στη διάθεσή του. Η Ελλάδα δεν ενθουσίασε στο πρώτο μέρος, φυσικά όμως δεν απειλήθηκε.

Η Κύπρος, από την άλλη, κέρδισε το χειροκρότημα με τη μαχητικότητά της. Ομάδα που συμμετέχει στο Ευρωμπάσκετ Μικρών Χωρών (στο άλλοτε EuroBasket Γ’ Κατηγορίας), με τα παιδιά του Χριστόφορου Λειβαδιώτη να ζουν το όνειρό τους, να έχουν μεγαλύτερο κίνητρο και να απολαμβάνουν περισσότερο το σαραντάλεπτο.

Ο Φίλιππος Τίγκας ήταν ο παίκτης που πίεσε περισσότερο απ’ όλους την άμυνα της Ελλάδας, έσφιξε τα δόντια για να παίξει μετά από τον τραυματισμό στον αγώνα με τη Βοσνία, ωστόσο πόνεσε και πάλι στο τρίτο δεκάλεπτο και έμεινε στο τέταρτο στον πάγκο.
