The first ticket for the four on the board women's was booked by Aryna Sabalenka, who with a twist took the victory over Laura Siggemund with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Although Aryna Sabalenka needed it, she qualified for the semifinals of Wimbledon. The world No.1 had to make a twist against Laura Siggemund with a score of 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 and get the ticket for the 4th round of the London Grand Slam.

A match lasting two hours and 56 minutes, which did not start well for the Belarusian tennis player. She herself had several ups and downs, as she struggled quite a bit behind the serve. At the same time, she often failed to find answers to the problems presented by the German with her continuous slices. She ended the game with many unforced errors (36), having 63% of points won behind the first serve (42/67) and only 33% on the second (12/36).

The match

Competitively, Sigmund entered the match impressively. With two breaks and a hold, she took a three-game lead (3-0). Sabalenka made a break back (3-1), however, with a new... break, the German found herself serving to win the set (5-2). The world No. 1 reacted again, however, with the score at 5-4, her opponent served and closed the set with 6-4.

In the second set, Sabalenka started furiously. With a break and a hold, she made it 2-0, to which she found an immediate answer from Sigmund (2-2). From there, a series of four games followed from the Belarusian, who closed the set 6-2. The qualifying case was led to the third and final set.

Sigmund led twice with breaks (3-1, 4-3), with Sabalenka finding the same number of answers. In fact, she sent the German to serve to stay in the match (5-4) and there with another break she took the victory and at the same time qualified for the semifinals.

Sabalenka's opponent in the next round will be the winner of the Anisimova - Pavlyuchenkova match.

Το πρώτο εισιτήριο για την τετράδα στο ταμπλό γυναικών έκλεισε η Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα, η οποία με ανατροπή πήρε τη νίκη επί της Λάουρα Σίγκεμουντ με σκορ 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Αν και τα χρειάστηκε η Αρίνα Σαμπαλένκα πήρε την πρόκριση στα ημιτελικά του Wimbledon. Η Νο.1 του κόσμου χρειάστηκε να κάνει ανατροπή κόντρα στη Λάουρα Σίγκεμουντ με 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 και να πάρει το εισιτήριο για την 4άδα του λονδρέζικου Grand Slam.

Ένας ματς διάρκειας δύο ωρών και 56 λεπτών, το οποίο δεν ξεκίνησε καλά για την Λευκορωσίδα τενίστρια. Η ίδια είχε αρκετά σκαμπανεβάσματα, καθώς δυσκολεύτηκε αρκετά πίσω από το σερβίς. Παράλληλα δεν κατάφερε πολλές φορές να βρει απαντήσεις στα προβλήματα που της παρουσίασε η Γερμανίδα με τα συνεχόμενα slice. Τελείωσε το παιχνίδι με πολλά αβίαστα λάθη (36), έχοντας 63% κερδισμένους πόντους πίσω από πρώτο service (42/67) και μόλις 33% στο δεύτερο (12/36).

Ο αγώνας

Αγωνιστικά η Σίγκεμουντ μπήκε εντυπωσιακά στο ματς. Με δύo breaks και ένα hold πήρε τρία games διαφορά (3-0). Η Σαμπαλένκα έκανε ένα break back (3-1), ωστόσο με νέο... σπάσιμο η Γερμανίδα βρέθηκε να σερβίρει για να κατακτήσει το σετ (5-2). Η Νο.1 του κόσμου έβγαλε εκ νέου αντίδραση, ωστόσο με το σκορ στο 5-4 η αντίπαλός της σέρβιρε και έκλεισε το σετ με 6-4.

Στο δεύτερο σετ η Σαμπαλένκα ξεκίνησε φουριόζα. Με ένα break και ένα hold έκανε το 2-0, στο οποίο βρήκε άμεση απάντηση από τη Σίγκεμουντ (2-2). Από εκεί και πέρα ακολούθησε ένα σερί τεσσάρων games από την Λευκορωσίδα, η οποία έκλεισε με 6-2 το σετ. Η υπόθεση πρόκριση οδηγήθηκε σε τρίτο και τελευταίο σετ.

Η Σίγκεμουντ προηγήθηκε δύο φορές με break (3-1, 4-3), με τη Σαμπαλένκα να βρίσκει ισάριθμες απαντήσεις. Μάλιστα, έστειλε τη Γερμανίδα να σερβίρει για να μείνει στο ματς (5-4) και εκεί με νέο break πήρε τη νίκη και συνάμα την πρόκριση στα ημιτελικά.

Αντίπαλος της Σαμπαλένκα στον επόμενο γύρο θα είναι η νικήτρια από την αναμέτρηση Ανισίμοβα - Παβλιουτσένκοβα.
