Thanks to a goal by Baku in the 87th minute, Atromitos took a huge double inside OFI's home ground (1-2) and took an important step towards qualifying for Europe.

Atromitos took an important step towards qualifying for Europe and occupying 5th place, defeating OFI with a score of 2-1 at "Yeti Koule", for the 1st matchday of the Stoiximan Super League Play offs.

The two teams showed from the very first minute their mood and that it would be a match with a lot of passion, with both teams returning from the break full of appetite. Before the 1st minute was even complete, the Cretans threatened with Salcedo, with the ball barely going out of bounds by his header, while in the 3rd minute Christogeorgos blocked a Tsingaras shot.

The match continued to have a frantic pace and in the 6th minute the Peristeri team opened the score. Karamanis made a sweet cross from the right and Giorgos Tzovaras with a nail-biting header left no room for the opposing goalkeeper and scored 1-0.

However, Pablo Garcia's team did not have time to rejoice for long, with OFI's response being immediate. Thiago Nous found himself alone in the area from a corner kick by Sengelia and with a nice header beat Houtesiotis for 1-1 in the 12th minute of the match.

The two teams continued to press, with Milan Rastavac's team getting the upper hand, having very good chances, with Borja Gonzalez. Initially (35') Hutesiotis said "no" to his shot, while in the 44th minute the ball? stopped on the post and the 1-1 remained.

In the second half, the Peristeri team picked up the pace again, threatened in the 57th minute with Ouedraogo, while two minutes later (59') they missed a great opportunity, with Michorl not having time to send the ball into the net from the turn of Tzovaras. Things did not seem to change and in the 73rd minute Atromitos had another great opportunity, with Christogeorgos keeping the score at 1-1 with an impressive intervention on a shot by Palmezano.

Finally, redemption for Atromitos came in the 87th minute, with Baku taking advantage of a wrong turn by OFI players from the wing and with a very strong shot with his left foot, he made it 2-1 and gave his team a very important "three points". In fact, the Peristeriotes finished the match with 10 players, due to a direct red card that Palmezano received for a foul on Neira.

In the last phase of the match, OFI had a huge opportunity to equalize with Jung, however, the ball went just wide and the 2-1 in favor of Atromitos remained until the final whistle.

Χάρη σε ένα γκολ του Μπακού στα 87’ ο Ατρόμητος πήρε τεράστιο διπλό μέσα στην έδρα του ΟΦΗ (1-2) και έκανε σημαντικό βήμα για την έξοδο στην Ευρώπη.

Σημαντικό βήμα για την έξοδο στην Ευρώπη και την κατάληψη της 5ης θέσης έκανε ο Ατρόμητος, επικρατώντας του ΟΦΗ με σκορ 2-1 στο «Γεντί Κουλέ», για την 1η αγωνιστική των Play offs της Stoiximan Super League.

Οι δύο ομάδες έδειξαν από το πρώτο κιόλας λεπτό τη διάθεσή τους και πως θα γίνει ένα ματς με πολύ πάθος, με τις δύο ομάδες να επιστρέφουν ορεξάτες από την διακοπή. Πριν καν συμπληρωθεί το 1ο λεπτό, οι Κρητικοί απείλησαν με τον Σαλσέδο, με τη μπάλα να περνάει ελάχιστα άουτ από την κεφαλιά του, ενώ στο 3΄ ο Χριστογεώργος μπλόκαρε ένα αουτ του Τσιγγάρα. 

Το ματς συνέχισε να έχει ξέφρενο ρυθμό και στο 6ο λεπτό οι Περιστεριώτες άνοιξαν το σκορ. Ο Καραμάνης έκανε γλυκιά σέντρα από δεξιά και ο Γιώργος Τζοβάρας με καρφωτή κεφαλιά δεν άφησε κανένα περιθώριο στον αντίπαλο τερματοφύλακα και έγραψε το 1-0.

Ωστόσο, η ομάδα του Πάμπλο Γκαρσία δεν πρόλαβε να χαρεί για πολύ, με την απάντηση του ΟΦΗ να είναι άμεση. Ο Τιάγκο Νους βρέθηκε μόνος στην περιοχή από εκτέλεση κόρνερ του Σενγκέλια και με ωραία κεφαλιά νίκησε τον Χουτεσιώτη για το 1-1 στο 12ο λεπτό της αναμέτρησης. 

Οι δύο ομάδες συνέχισαν να πιέζουν, με την ομάδα του Μίλαν Ράσταβατς να παίρνει το πάνω χέρι, έχοντας πολύ καλές ευκαιρίες ,με τον Μπόρχα Γκονζάλες. Αρχικά (35') ο Χουτεσιώτης είπε «όχι» στο σου του, ενώ στο 44ο λεπτό η μπάλα; σταμάτησε στο δοκάρι και το 1-1 παρέμεινε. 

Στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο η ομάδα του Περιστερίου ανέβασε ξανά ρυθμό, απείλησε στο 57' με τον Ουεντραόγκο, ενώ δύο λεπτά αργότερα (59΄) έχασε μεγάλη ευκαιρία, με τον Μίχορλ να μην προλαβαίνει να στείλει τη μπάλα στα δίχτυα από το γύρισμα του Τζοβάρα. Τα πράγματα δεν φάνηκε να αλλάζουν και στο 73' ο Ατρόμητος είχε νέα μεγάλη ευκαιρια, με τον Χριστογεώργο να κρατά το 1-1 με εντυπωσιακή επέμβαση σε σουτ του Παλμεζάνο. 

Τελικά, η λύτρωση για τον Ατρόμητο ήρθε στο 87ο λεπτό, με τον Μπακού να εκμεταλλεύεται ένα λάθος γύρισμα των παικτ'ων του ΟΦΗ από πλάγιο και με ένα πολύ δυνατό σουτ με το αριστερό έκανε το 2-1 και έδωσε ένα πολύ σημαντικό «τρίποντο» στην ομάδα του. Μάλιστα, οι Περιστεριώτες τελείωσαν το ματς με 10 παίκτες, εξαιτίας σε απευθείας κόκκινη που αντίκρυσε ο Παλμεζάνο για φάουλ στον Νέιρα. 

Στην τελευταία φάση του ματς, ο ΟΦΗ είχε τεράστια ευκαιρία για να ισοφαρίσει με τον Γιουνγκ, ωστόσο η μπάλα έφυγε λίγο άουτ και το 2-1 υπέρ του Ατρομήτου έμεινε μέχρι το τελικό σφύριγμα της λήξης.
