Omer Yurtseven was born on June 19, 1998 in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Turkish parents, he is 2.11 m tall and plays at position 5.

At the age of 16, he was selected in the top five of the Pan-European U16 Championship, while he was part of the Fenerbahce Beko team. With the Turkish team he made his Euroleague debut on March 20, 2015 in a match against Emporio Armani Milano. The 2015-2016 season had eight participations in the Euroleague, until February 2016, when he left Fenerbahce in order to "move" to the USA and compete in the college league.

From 2016 to 2018 he played for North Carolina State University, while finishing his NCAA stint with Georgetown (2019–2020). In his second year in the college league he averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds. His best year, in terms of numbers, was his last (2019-2020) where he averaged 15.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

In 2020, he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and played with their G League affiliate. On May 14, 2021, he was traded to the Miami Heat and finished the 2021-2022 season averaging 5.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 56 games. Yurtseven remained with the Heat the following year, while the 2023-2024 season found him with the Utah Jazz, with whom he had 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 48 games.

In three seasons in the NBA, the Turkish center averaged 5 points and 4.6 rebounds per 11.8 minutes in 113 appearances.

Yurtseven was a member of the small National Teams from a young age. He competed in the 2013 FIBA ​​Europe U16 Championship and the 2014 FIBA ​​Europe U16 Championship. He also played in the 2015 FIBA ​​Europe U18 Championship, where he won a silver medal, and the 2016 FIBA ​​Europe U20 Championship, where he won a bronze medal and even found himself in the top team of the tournament. Οι «πράσινοι», λοιπόν, συμφώνησαν με τον Τούρκο σέντερ για συμβόλαιο διάρκειας 1+1 ετών, ολοκληρώνοντας παράλληλα με αυτή την κίνηση το ρόστερ τους για την σεζόν 2024-25.

Έχοντας για μοναδική εκκρεμότητα το τι θα γίνει με το μέλλον του Όλεκ Μπαλτσερόφσκι, ο οποίος αυτή την στιγμή είναι ο τέταρτος ψηλός στην ιεραρχία του Εργκίν Αταμάν και δεν αποκλείεται να αποχωρήσει από το ρόστερ.

«Η ΚΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός AKTOR ανακοινώνει την απόκτηση του Ομέρ Γιουρτσεβέν για τα επόμενα δύο χρόνια (1+1).

Ο Ομέρ Γιουρτσεβέν γεννήθηκε στις 19 Ιουνίου 1998 στην πόλη Tashkent του Ουζεμπεκιστάν από Τούρκους γονείς, έχει ύψος 2.11 μ. και αγωνίζεται στη θέση 5.

Σε ηλικία 16 ετών επελέγη στην καλύτερη πεντάδα του πανευρωπαϊκού πρωταθλήματος U16, ενώ άνηκε στο δυναμικό της Fenerbahce Beko. Με την τουρκική ομάδα έκανε το ντεμπούτο του στη Euroleague στις 20 Μαρτίου του 2015 σε έναν αγώνα με την Emporio Armani Milano. Tη σεζόν 2015-2016 είχε οκτώ συμμετοχές στην Euroleague, μέχρι τον Φεβρουάριο του 2016, όταν και αποχώρησε από την Fenerbahce προκειμένου να «μετακομίσει» στις ΗΠΑ και να αγωνιστεί στο κολεγιακό πρωτάθλημα.

Από το 2016 έως το 2018 αγωνίστηκε στην ομάδα του North Carolina State University, ενώ ολοκλήρωσε τη θητεία του στο NCAA με το Georgetown (2019–2020). Στη δεύτερή του χρονιά στο κολεγιακό πρωτάθλημα είχε 13.5 πόντους και 6.7 ριμπάουντ κατά μέσο όρο. Η κορυφαία του χρονιά, από πλευράς αριθμών, ήταν η τελευταία του (2019-2020) όπου μέτρησε 15.5 πόντους, 9.8 ριμπάουντ και 1.2 ασίστ ανά αγώνα.
