Spoelstra: "Ridiculous that we would choose to stop Jokic's scoring or creation" (vid)
Erik Spoelstra was quick to call it "ridiculous" the idea that the Miami Heat will have to choose whether to limit Nikola Jokic's scoring or creation.
Erik Spoelstra stopped ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne's question. This was about choosing the restriction between "Nikola Jokic the scorer" and "Nikola Jokic the creator".
Spoelstra described the thought of the selection as "ridiculous" and elaborated on his thoughts: "That's what the 'untrained eye' says, the guy is an incredible scorer. You can't say "let's let him score". That's not their way of playing. He was twice the best player on the planet."
Spoelstra shook his head and continued, explaining that "Jokic has our utmost respect."
However, for the record, Jokic had 41 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in Game 2, while in Game 1 he had 27 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists.

Ο Έρικ Σπόελστρα έσπευσε να χαρακτηρίσει ως «γελοία» τη σκέψη ότι οι Μαϊάμι Χιτ θα πρέπει να επιλέξουν αν θα περιορίσουν το σκορ ή τη δημιουργία του Νίκολα Γιόκιτς.
Ο Έρικ Σπόελστρα σταμάτησε την ερώτηση της δημοσιογράφου του ESPN, Ραμόνα Σέλμπουρν. Αυτή αφορούσε την επιλογή του περιορισμού ανάμεσα στον «σκόρερ Νίκολα Γιόκιτς» και τον «δημιουργό Νίκολα Γιόκιτς».
Ο Σπόλστρα χαρακτήρισε ως «γελοία» τη σκέψη της επιλογής και ανέλυσε τις σκέψεις του: «Αυτό λέει το "απροπόνητο μάτι", ο τύπος είναι ένας απίστευτος σκόρερ. Δεν μπορείς να πεις "ας τον αφήσουμε να σκοράρει". Δεν είναι αυτός ο τρόπος παιχνιδιού τους. Ήταν δύο φορές ο κορυφαίος παίκτης στον πλανήτη».
Ο Σπόελστρα κούνησε το κεφάλι του και συνέχισε, εξηγώντας ότι «Ο Γιόκιτς έχει τον απόλυτο σεβασμό μας».
Πάντως, για την ιστορία, ο Γιόκιτς στο Game 2 είχε 41 πόντους, 11 ριμπάουντ και 4 ασίστ, ενώ στο Game 1 μέτρησε 27 πόντους, 10 ριμπάουντ και 14 ασίστ.
