Ο Κούρο Σεγκούρα αναλαμβάνει τον Κολοσσό Ρόδου για δύο χρόνια

Curo Segura takes over the Colossos of Rhodes for two years

Colossus' deal with Curo Segura has been formalized. The 51-year-old Spanish coach signed a two-year contract with Rhodes.

With Curo Segura on the edge of the bench, the Colossos of Rhodes will march for the next two seasons, as it was announced with all formality on Friday morning (23/6).

This will be the Spanish technician's third stop in Greece, after in the 2021/22 season he coached Ionikos and then AEK. In the completed season, the 51-year-old was in LEB Oro with Burgos.

"KAE Kolossos H Hotels announces that it has reached an agreement with Curo Segura to take over the technical leadership for the next 2 years.

The 51-year-old coach has a lot of experience from the benches, taking his first steps in 1994, while the first team he took over as head coach was Motril in 1996. He then worked in Granada, Linense, Tenerife and in 2002 he took charge of Menorca, the which he raised to the first category.

In 2007 he sat on the bench of Zaragoza, which he also promoted to ACB, while in the 2009/10 season he was at Obradeiro. He then returned to Granada, while in the 2012/13 season he was a member of the coaching staff of Unicaja Málaga. He followed a three-year period outside of Spain and specifically worked in China (Jilin Northeast Tigers), Uruguay (Atletico Aguada) and Venezuela (Gigantes de Guayana).

In the 2017/18 season he returned to his country and worked as a member of the Baskonia staff. In 2018, he took over Real Betis, which he promoted to the first division and remained on their bench until November 2020.

In the 2021/22 season, Curo Segura worked for the first time in Greece, taking over the bench of Ionian Nikias, while halfway through the year he moved to AEK, staying until the end.

This year, the experienced coach was on the bench of Burgos, participating in the championship of the second division of Spain".

Επισημοποιήθηκε η συμφωνία του Κολοσσού με τον Κούρο Σεγκούρα. Ο 51χρονος Ισπανός τεχνικός υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο διάρκειας δύο ετών με τους Ροδίτες.

Με τον Κούρο Σεγκούρα στην άκρη του πάγκου θα πορευτεί ο Κολοσσός Ρόδου τις δύο επόμενες σεζόν, όπως ανακοινώθηκε με κάθε επισημότητα το πρωί της Παρασκευής (23/6).

Αυτός θα είναι ο τρίτος σταθμός του Ισπανού τεχνικού στην Ελλάδα, αφού τη σεζόν 2021/22 είχε κοουτσάρει αρχικά τον Ιωνικό και εν συνεχεία την ΑΕΚ. Τη σεζόν που ολοκληρώθηκε, ο 51χρονος βρέθηκε στην LEB Oro με την Μπούργος.

"Η ΚΑΕ Κολοσσός H Hotels ανακοινώνει ότι ήρθε σε συμφωνία με τον Κούρο Σεγκούρα για την ανάληψη της τεχνικής ηγεσίας, για τα επόμενα 2 χρόνια.

Ο 51χρονος προπονητής έχει μεγάλη εμπειρία από τους πάγκους, κάνοντας τα πρώτα του βήματα το 1994, ενώ η πρώτη ομάδα που ανέλαβε ως head coach ήταν η Μοτρίλ το 1996. Στη συνέχεια εργάστηκε σε Γρανάδα, Λινένσε, Τενερίφη και το 2002 ανέλαβε τη Μενόρκα, την οποία ανέβασε στην πρώτη κατηγορία.

Το 2007 έκατσε στον πάγκο της Σαραγόσα, την οποία ανέβασε και εκείνη στην ACB, ενώ τη σεζόν 2009/10 ήταν στην Ομπραντόιρο. Στη συνέχεια, επέστρεψε στη Γρανάδα, ενώ τη σεζόν 2012/13 ήταν μέλος του προπονητικού επιτελείου της Ουνικάχα Μάλαγα. Ακολούθησε μία τριετία εκτός Ισπανίας και συγκεκριμένα δούλεψε σε Κίνα (Jilin Northeast Tigers), Ουρουγουάη (Atletico Aguada) και Βενεζουέλα (Gigantes de Guayana).

Τη σεζόν 2017/18 επέστρεψε στη χώρα του και εργάστηκε ως μέλος του επιτελείου της Μπασκόνια. Το 2018 ανέλαβε τη Ρεάλ Μπέτις, την οποία ανέβασε στην πρώτη κατηγορία και παρέμεινε στον πάγκο της μέχρι τον Νοέμβριο του 2020.

Τη σεζόν 2021/22, ο Κούρο Σεγκούρα εργάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα, αναλαμβάνοντας τον πάγκο του Ιωνικού Νικαίας, ενώ στα μισά της χρονιάς μετακόμισε στην ΑΕΚ, μένοντας μέχρι το τέλος.

Φέτος, ο έμπειρος προπονητής ήταν στον πάγκο της Μπούργος, συμμετέχοντας στο πρωτάθλημα της δεύτερης κατηγορίας της Ισπανίας".
