Greece - Croatia 75-55: The defense brought a commanding victory

The Women's National Team took yet another positive step, winning 75-55 against Croatia, in the indoor stadium of Agios Thomas, in the premiere of the 2nd "Vasso Beskaki" tournament.

The indoor stadium of Amarousi was filled with life. All sorts of little ones found themselves in the stands to watch the Women's National team against Croatia up close. The victory came in an impressive way and through a productive process, as the defense set the pace and the offense could find solutions (75-55).

The first scorer for Greece was Mariella Fasoula with 19 points and 8 rebounds, followed by Stamolambrou (18 points in 10 minutes), Sotiriou (9), Bosgana (8) and Tsineke (7).

However, the key player was Artemis Spanou, with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in... barely 17 minutes of participation!

The match

At the premiere of the 2nd "Vasso Beskaki" tournament. And at least for the first quarter, everyone was satisfied. More the coach of the National team, Petros Prekas, with the appearance of the National team and Mariella Fasoula dominant near the basket (8 points, 7 assists the team) taking a 30-14 lead.

The initial excitement, combined with rotation, stuck with the National Team. He went without a point for 6 minutes, instead Croatia went on a 7-0 run in that period to close to 30-21.

Until Mariella Fasoula... broke the streak with shots. However, the first domestic basket for the "blue and white" came with difficulty 40 seconds later, with Bosgana scoring with a double effort.

The first basket gave the impetus to both the players and the platform. The starting five returned to the court, at every possible opportunity the pace was fast and Greece again escaped the score with 39-24, with Stamolambrou providing solutions to the score (10 points).

In the second half, the recipe didn't change. The simultaneous presence of Fasoula and Spanou brought partnerships close to the basket, while the defense also seemed to work better, compared to the 2nd period.

At the same time, the Greek team was in control of the rebounds and could play at the pace they wanted.

The difference at the end of the 3rd quarter was 27 points (67-40) with Greece making 21/30 two-pointers (70%).

The 4th period didn't change anything. Greece insisted on zone defense, which gave them... points and limited the Croatians, who finished the match with 14 errors.

Η Εθνική Γυναικών έκανε ακόμα ένα θετικό βήμα, επικράτησε με 75-55 της Κροατίας, στο κλειστό του Αγίου Θωμά, στην πρεμιέρα του 2ου τουρνουά «Βάσω Μπεσκάκη».

Το κλειστό γήπεδο του Αμαρουσίου γέμισε ζωή. Κάθε λογής πιτσιρίκια βρέθηκαν στις εξέδρες του για να δουν από κοντά την Εθνική ομάδα Γυναικών κόντρα στην Κροατία. Η νίκη ήρθε με επιβλητικό τρόπο και μέσα από παραγωγική διαδικασία, καθώς η άμυνα έδινε το ρυθμό και η επίθεση μπορούσε να βρίσκει λύσεις (75-55).

Πρώτη σκόρερ για την Ελλάδα ήταν η Μαριέλλα Φασούλα με 19 πόντους και 8 ριμπάουντ, ενώ ακολούθησαν οι Σταμολάμπρου (18π. σε 10΄), Σωτηρίου (9), Μποσγανά (8) και Τσινέκε (7).

Παίκτρια - κλειδί ωστόσο ήταν η Άρτεμις Σπανού, με 7 πόντους, 8 ριμπάουντ και 5 ασίστ σε... σκάρτα 17 λεπτά συμμετοχής!

Το ματς

Στην πρεμιέρα του 2ου τουρνουά «Βάσω Μπεσκάκη». Και τουλάχιστον για το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο όλοι έμειναν ικανοποιημένοι. Περισσότερο ο προπονητής της Εθνικής, Πέτρος Πρέκας, με την εμφάνιση της Εθνικής και τη Μαριέλλα Φασούλα κυρίαρχο κοντά στο καλάθι (8π., 7 ασίστ η ομάδα) να παίρνει προβάδισμα 30-14.

Ο αρχικός ενθουσιασμός σε συνδυασμό με ροτέισον, κόλλησε την Εθνική. Έμεινε δίχως πόντο για 6 λεπτά, αντίθετα η Κροατία έκανε σε αυτό το διάστημα σερί 7-0 και πλησίασε σε 30-21.

Μέχρι που η Μαριέλλα Φασούλα... έσπασε το σερί με βολές. Πάντως, το πρώτο εντός παιδιάς καλάθι για τη «γαλανόλευκη» ήρθε με κόπο 40 δεύτερα έπειτα, με την Μποσγανά να σκοράρει με διπλή προσπάθεια.

Το πρώτο καλάθι έδωσε το έναυσμα και στις παίκτριες και στην εξέδρα. Η αρχική πεντάδα επέστρεψε στο παρκέ, σε κάθε πιθανή ευκαιρία ο ρυθμός ήταν γρήγορος και η Ελλάδα ξέφυγε ξανά στο σκορ με 39-24, με τη Σταμολάμπρου να δίνει λύσεις στο σκορ (10π.).

Ίδια συνταγή και στο 2ο ημίχρονο για την Ελλάδα

Στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο, η... συνταγή δεν άλλαξε. Η ταυτόχρονη παρουσία της Φασούλα και της Σπανού έφερε συνεργασίες κοντά στο καλάθι, ενώ και η άμυνα έμοιαζε να λειτουργεί καλύτερα, σε σχέση με τη 2η περίοδο.

Την ίδια ώρα, η ελληνική ομάδα είχε τον έλεγχο των ριμπάουντ και μπορούσε να παίζει στο ρυθμό που ήθελε.

Η διαφορά στο τέλος της 3ης ήταν στους 27 πόντους (67-40) με την Ελλάδα να έχει 21/30 δίποντα (70%).

Η 4η περίοδος δεν άλλαξε κάτι. Η Ελλάδα επέμεινε στην άμυνα ζώνης, αυτή της έδωσε... πόντους και περιόρισε τις Κροάτισσες, οι οποίες τελείωσαν το ματς με 14 λάθη.
