Official: Tyus in Villerban
Alex Tyus is officially a Villeurbanne player, returning to the Euroleague level.
Villerban announced the acquisition of Alex Tyus, filling the void of the injured Joffrey Lauvergne, who will be sidelined for several months due to injury.
The 34-year-old center played the 2020/21 season at Real Madrid, while last year he was on the roster of the Turkish side Karsijaka, and of course he has a lot of experience at the top level.
"After Lovern's injury, we had to react quickly to try to find the best way to strengthen the front line. Alex will bring his athleticism, especially on defense and rebounding, a wealth of experience and a knowledge of the game that will be invaluable to us,” said head coach TJ Parker.

Παίκτης της Βιλερμπάν είναι και επίσημα ο Άλεξ Τάιους που επιστρέψει σε επίπεδο Euroleague.
Την απόκτηση του Άλεξ Τάιους ανακοίνωσε η Βιλερμπάν καλύπτοντας το κενό του τραυματία, Ζόφρι Λοβέρν, που θα μείνει για αρκετούς μήνες εκτός δράσης λόγω τραυματισμού.
Ο 34χρονος σέντερ αγωνίστηκε σεζόν 2020/21 στη Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης, ενώ πέρσι ήταν στο ρόστερ της τουρκικής Καρσίγιακα και φυσικά διαθέτει τεράστια εμπειρία στο κορυφαίο επίπεδο.
«Μετά τον τραυματισμό του Λοβέρν, έπρεπε να αντιδράσουμε γρήγορα για να προσπαθήσουμε να βρούμε τον καλύτερο τρόπο για να ενισχύσουμε τη φροντ λάιν. Ο Άλεξ θα μας φέρει τα αθλητικά του προσόντα, ιδιαίτερα στην άμυνα και στα ριμπάουντ, μια μεγάλη εμπειρία και μια γνώση του παιχνιδιού που θα είναι ανεκτίμητη για εμάς», είπε ο προπονητής, Τι Τζέι Πάρκερ.
