Although he started the Hungarian Grand Prix from 10th place, Verstappen took a big win, leaving the two Mercedes at 2-3. Ferrari was betrayed again by its bad strategy.

In an impressive Grand Prix, Max Verstappen celebrated his 8th victory of the year, taking advantage of Red Bull's excellent strategy! On the other hand, Ferrari had another nightmare race, with bad choices lining the podium, despite the fact that their two cars started from 2nd and 3rd. Another good performance from both Mercedes, with Russell finishing 2nd and Hamilton 3rd (he also took the fastest lap point).

Russell remained in first place and ahead of the two Ferraris after the start, while the Red Bulls made an impressive start, with Verstappen and Perez gaining two places each, while entering the 9th lap the two were in 6th and 7th respectively !

When the pit stops began Ferrari opted to keep Leclerc in the race, who changed tires on lap 21, pulling ahead of Saint's team-mate and behind leader Russell. The Monegasque then picked up the pace and put a lot of pressure on Russell, eventually passing him on lap 31. At the same time, Verstappen was gnawing away at his gap from 3rd Saint.

On the 40th lap, Ferrari chose to put the hard rubber on Leclerc, a strategy that ultimately proved disastrous for the "reds". Leclerc was uncompetitive after this change and Verstappen passed him easily, before the Dutchman spun, giving Leclerc the lead again.

However, Verstappen returned to the lead on lap 45, never looking back. Leclerc was unable to hold on to second place even against Russell, with the Briton passing him for 2nd, while Ferrari pitted Leclerc again, putting him on the soft tyre.

The Monegasque returned to the track in 6th and having virtually given up hope of victory, while Hamilton steadily picked up the pace, closing the gap on 3rd Saint. Finally, the Briton managed to overtake Saint, completing a bad day for the Ferrari team, while shortly before the finale he also overcame Russell's obstacle, finishing 2nd! Russell completed his effort in 3rd place, while the first ten were completed by Saint, Perez, Leclerc, Norris, Alonso, Ocon and Vettel!

Αν και ξεκίνησε το Grand Prix της Ουγγαρίας από τη 10η θέση, ο Φερστάπεν πήρε μεγάλη νίκη, αφήνοντας τις δύο Mercedes στο 2-3. Προδόθηκε ξανά από την κάκιστη στρατηγική της η Ferrari.

Σε ένα εντυπωσιακό Grand Prix, ο Μαξ Φερστάπεν πανηγύρισε την 8η φετινή του νίκη, εκμεταλλευόμενος την εξαιρετική στρατηγική της Red Bull! Από την άλλη, η Ferrari είχε έναν ακόμα εφιαλτικό αγώνα, με τις κάκιστες επιλογές να στοιχίζουν το βάθρο, παρά το γεγονός πως τα δύο μονοθέσιά της ξεκίνησαν από τη 2η και την 3η θέση. Ξανά καλή εμφάνιση από τις δύο Mercedes, με τον Ράσελ να τερματίζει 2ος και τον Χάμιλτον 3ος (πήρε και τον βαθμό του ταχύτερου γύρου).

Ο Ράσελ παρέμεινε στην πρώτη θέση και μπροστά από τις δύο Ferrari μετά την εκκίνηση, ενώ οι Red Bull έκαναν εντυπωσιακό ξεκίνημα, με τους Φερστάπεν και Πέρεζ να κερδίζουν από δύο θέσεις, ενώ μπαίνοντας στον 9ο γύρο οι δυο τους βρέθηκαν σε 6η και 7η θέση αντίστοιχα!!

Όταν άρχισαν τα pit stops η Ferrari επέλεξε να κρατήσει στον αγώνα τον Λεκλέρ, ο οποίος άλλαξε ελαστικά στον 21ο γύρο, βγαίνοντας μπροστά από τον ομόσταυλό του Σάινθ και πίσω από τον πρωτοπόρο Ράσελ. Στη συνέχεια ο Μονεγάσκος ανέβασε ρυθμό και πίεσε αφόρητα τον Ράσελ, προσπερνώντας τον τελικά στον 31ο γύρο. Παράλληλα, ο Φερστάπεν ροκάνιζε τη διαφορά του από τον 3ο Σάινθ.

Στον 40ό γύρο η Ferrari επέλεξε να βάλει την σκληρή γόμα στον Λεκλέρ, στρατηγική που τελικά αποδείχθηκε καταστροφική για τους «κόκκινους». Ο Λεκλέρ δεν ήταν ανταγωνιστικός μετά από αυτή την αλλαγή και ο Φερστάπεν τον πέρασε εύκολα, πριν ο Ολλανδός κάνει τετακέ, δίνοντας ξανά τη θέση στο Λεκλέρ.

Ωστόσο, ο Φερστάπεν επέστρεψε στην πρώτη θέση στον 45ο γύρο, χωρίς να ξανακοιτάξει πίσω. Ο Λεκλέρ δεν κατάφερε να κρατήσει τη δεύτερη θέση ούτε κόντρα στον Ράσελ, με τον Βρετανό να τον προσπερνά για τη 2η θέση, ενώ η Ferrari ξαναέβαλε τον Λεκλέρ στα pit, βάζοντας του τη μαλακή γόμα.

Ο Μονεγάσκος επέστρεψε στην πίστα όντας 6ος και έχοντας χάσει ουσιαστικά τις ελπίδες για νίκη, ενώ ο Χάμιλτον ανέβαζε συνεχώς ρυθμό, μειώνοντας τη διαφορά του από τον 3ο Σάινθ. Τελικά, ο Βρετανός κατάφερε να προσπεράσει τον Σάινθ, ολοκληρώνοντας την κάκιστη μέρα για την ομάδα της Ferrari, ενώ λίγο πριν το φινάλε ξεπέρασε και το εμπόδιο του Ράσελ, τερματίζοντας 2ος! Στην 3η θέση ολοκλήρωσε την προσπάθειά του ο Ράσελ, ενώ την πρώτη δεκάδα συμπλήρωσαν οι Σάινθ, Πέρεζ, Λεκλέρ, Νόρις, Αλόνσο, Οκόν και Φέτελ!
